| Snow…On April 28th?!... |
|
Does anyone else think it’s absolutely ridiculous that I had to sweep snow off my vehicle this morning?! I cannot believe this shit! Snow! At the end of April! I can only shake my head in disgust…really.
Well, who wants to hear about my weekend?! *the crowd roars* For the most part, my weekend was pretty good. Saturday night was Melissa’s birthday outing & I really didn’t want to go but I thought that I would just go for dinner & then use my shopping adventure with my grandma earlier that day as an excuse to head home early. We went out to one of my favorite restaurants (probably the main reason I decided to go – ha!). Things started off okay, Jill was friendly to me & everything seemed fine. We had eleven people & they put us on two tables – it was Melissa, Chad (Melissa’s husband), Jill, Travis (Jill’s boyfriend), Amy M. (Jill’s sister) & Amy H. (Amy’s friend) at one table & then me, Melinda (my sister), Amanda (Melissa’s sister), Brian (Chad’s brother [Melissa’s brother-in-law]) & Aimee (Brian’s wife) at the other table. Things seemed to be going well, a local prom was taking place so we had fun watching all the young folk come walking in all dressed real nicelike. Well, one set of couples was having a drama filled evening with another set along side them. So, we are watching them cuz it was just as good as an episode of The Hills. One of the girls (who wore a bright pink dress [I’ll call her Pinker]) was on her phone & was angrily talking away while her date was yelling at her & he started walking down the road. The other couple they were with jumped in their car & went after Pinker’s date while Pinker stood in the parking lot still on her phone. As this is developing, Jill comes over to our table to watch (we had better seats). Well, joking around Brian says “go sit down, you’re making a spectacle of yourself”. Bad idea, Brian! Jill then yells “I think that’s my boss’ daughter”. & looks at me while she’s yelling that! She then goes & sits back down at her table when the vehicle comes back & picks up Pinker with her date in the vehicle as well.
Of course, that was not the end of it. Melissa & Jill both ordered the same thing – smothered chicken & they both complained that it tasted like it was boiling in chicken noodle soup. I was nice & offered half of my wrap to Jill cuz she just would not shut up about how she didn’t eat much. Due to the fact that we were at two different tables, we would catch snippets of convos. At one point, Melinda, Aimee & I thought we heard Jill say “it tastes like a tool”. All three of us started laughing & I turned around to smile at Jill & once again, she yelled – “if you’re gonna laugh at me, at least tell me what you are laughing about”. Are you frickin’ kidding me?! Aimee & Brian were not impressed at all. After that, everything was okay with Jill besides that fact that she’s really loud & annoying when she drinks. Melinda & I almost didn’t go out to the bar because of Jill flying off the handle but we went to hang out with Amanda. Everything went well at the bar but I sat & talked with Amanda & the Amys. Once everyone decided to relocate to downtown I used the “I’m Tired, I’m Going Home” card. I felt kinda bad about ditching Amanda cuz nobody else really talked to her but I really didn’t want to go downtown, I was ready for bed as was Melinda.
So, that was my evening. I did come to realize that I will only go out to the bars for birthdays with those people. I just don’t really have a good time. I mean, I did get to sit & talk Amanda & the Amys (who I all love) but I just didn’t enjoy myself. I also came to realize that Melissa is a lot easier to take without Jill around…or booze involved. I’m just getting to the point where I don’t want to drink much less watch other people do so. I’d much rather go to the movies or go bowling. I guess that I’m just getting old & maturing unlike the people that I used to consider my best friends. Sad.
Besides that, I had a pretty good weekend – went shopping, watched the race & the Brewer game at the same time (my parents’ have the ability to the whole split screen thing), went to the batting cages, etc. I think it’s time to write certain aspects outta my life.
Anywho, I am currently working on a new list for all your reading pleasures! :)
PS – Meredith, welcome back! Can’t wait to read all about your vacation – I haven’t had a chance yet.
