So the big news in Knoxville (this will tell you exactly how small this crap hole of a city is) is that 2 of the biggest hospitals are merging together. Now, the only reason why this happened is because my hopsital bought out the other one because they were going bankrupt. Yea....there's a big ass waste of money. Anyways, that's been all the talk. Sad isn't it? Nothing exciting but hospital merger.
The bankrupt hospital has their main campus which is downtown, then they turned around and in their bankrupt state, thought it a good idea to open yet another campus out in west Knoxville. Yea...smart right?!? So right away that was bankrupt too before they even opened. Now, the brilliant idea that our illustrious CEO and a band of people have come up with is to close down the main campus of the bankrupcy and transfer all patients here, our north campus, and the west portion of bankrupcy. Great....one more thing I have to deal with. Then in 3-5 years, they're closing down this hospital and the other one and combining for one uber hospital dowtown.
No one asked me regarding all this, but my opinion? I think everyone at the meeting road the short bus because that is, quite possibly, the dumbest idea I've ever heard of in my life.
Anywho, I'm sure none of you care about all that. I'm actually pretty sure I don't care about. It's simply something to think about other than my surgery. Which..is one more day closer. I'm freakin my mom out officially because of how freaked out I am. I mean think about it 1 in every 260 people experience anesthesia awareness. What happens if I go under and don't go to sleep. I'll feel everything, and wont be able to scream, move, or cry. Then what?!?! My comment to my mom last night was "this time next week I may be dead". Now please keep in mind that I'm not the person who typically freaks out when it comes to this.
Whew..and to think I haven't even looked up the staggering statistics of people who have died due to anesthesia.....
Someone save me from myself and take away my internet. They better be waiting in holding with a syringe full of versed and hit me with it right in the jugular when I walk through those doors...... |

I've had 2 surgeries and I am fine. The surgery won't be bad. It will be over before you know it.
