Thoughts.com Blogs - Day 5 post op

Yes I am indeed alive. Came through surgery fine. The clencher?!? I was actually nice when i woke up. That's a change from the girl who woke up litterally swinging last time. I woke up obnoxiously nice and talkative this time. My mom was thrilled lemme tell you.

It's so nice to know people when you have surgery. Lemme tell you. Granted I went in hungry, pissed off and hairy. But everyone was sooooo nice. They ended up moving me to the first case. The anesthesiologist gave me his special mix of drugs so shortly before they took me into the OR...I was in happy land. The CRNA that I had during surgery was the nicest man I think I've ever met. I actually think he gave me extra doses of fentanyl before they rolled me into recovery.

No, I didn't rememeber anything from the surgery. Actually the last thing I remember was the CRNA telling me he was going to take my glasses off for the time being (didnt matter at that point I couldn't see straight if I wanted to...lol) and then telling me to take 3 or 4 deep breaths. Next thing I knew the recovery room nurse woke me up...I told her I had to throw up, then my mom magically materialized at the side of the bed...lol drugs wouldn't have a thing to do with that.

Apparently the doctor talked to my mom after. I don't know for a fact, this is what I'm told though. She said his comment was that I had more wear-and-tear than he wanted to see in someone my age. In other words??? I'm going to end up having a total knee replacement at a young age.

I've done pretty good. Aside from my mom annoying the hell outta me. Wednesday night was really rough though. I got cocky wednesday cause of the anesthesia and my kneecap still being numb. I'm sure my neighbors thought someone was trying to kill me because I sat in my apartment and screamed at the top of my lungs until my best friend showed up. Thursday my mom got me outta the house and wheeled me around wal-mart then took me to lunch. That wore me out. My friends came over and brought pizza and movies for me. Always welcome.

My doc gave me really good pain meds. They don't play around when it comes to ortho surgery though. I got a little happy with them at first. I did however get my mom to cut them all in half for me. The good news is that I haven't taken any in like 24 hours or so. I'm on celebrex though which helps.

I know you're wondering and yes I've shaved my legs since....lol I know that question was burning in y'alls heads...lol

Contrary to what bullseye said my knee is not comparable in size to Jupiter...one of it's moons maybe...but no actually jupiter. i uploaded a pictue..

That's about it for now. I'm sitting in a very akward position and need to move. I start my physical therapy Tuesday and will be back at work on Wednesday. Until then....I hope everyone is well..I missed you all
