 story part 11
Kirby says comment, please!

The hall was made entirely of gold. The roof, pillars, the floor, even window frames (Kaya didn't see the point in the windows) were made of gold! The hall seemed as big as a cathedral, maybe even larger. Above them, golden beams crossed, making the roof look as though a giant spider which spun golden webs had made its nest in the room. To either side of them, statues (made of gold, of course) of various dwarves lined the walls. Each one had a feirce look on their face. Many of the statues were of males, but a few were females. In front of them, there stood two thrones at the top of golden steps. Both were occupied...

Vlad walked forward, and Kaya trailed close behind. "Stay silent," he warned. "The dwarves do not take kindly to other races." Kaya decided to do as she was told.

They stopped in front of the two thrones. Vlad made a polite bow, and Kaya quickly followed his lead. "Your graces," he said. The two strangers before them nodded. Kaya chanced a look at them.

They were both dwarven, one male and one female. They were both adorned with rich fabrics, the only variety of colour in the whole room. The man had a cape of deep red colour, while the woman had a cape of light blue. Both dwarves wore crowns upon their heads. They were King and Queen of their race.

"What news have you brought us, Vladimir?" asked the king. "Have the humans accepted our proposal?"

"Indeed," replied Vlad. "An alliance between the dwarves and the humans has now been formed."

'The dwarves proposed the treaty?' thought Kaya. 'I thought Vlad said they didn't take kindly to other races!'

"And who have you seen fit to bring before us?" questioned the Queen, looking at Kaya. The gaze of the dwarf seemed to penetrate through her, looking into her mind, into her soul. Kaya avoided the Queens eyes. "We do not approve of strangers."

"I beg pardon, your majesty." Vlad bowed his head. "This is Kaya. She has been my travelling companion for the past few days."

The King and Queen did not even seem to hear him. They leaned in towards each other and whispered. Even Kaya's elven ears could not make out the words they spoke to one another. After a few minutes of hushed conversation, the King stood up and looked at Kaya carefully. "She is elven," he stated.

"Yes, your majesty," replied Vlad.

"Then she is of use." The king stroked his bearded chin, as though deep in thought. Then he turned to Vlad with a serious look on his face. "You shall go to the elves, next. Take her with you, and form an alliance with the elves next. We have no chance of winning this war without them."

Kaya's heart stopped. The elves? They wouldn't accept her! She opened her mouth to say something, but a look from Vlad cut her off. Kaya merely shook her head and looked down again.

"Yes, your majesty," said Vlad.

"Excellent." The King sat back down on his throne. "Stay the night. Gather the supplies you need for your journey. Then, in the morning, you take leave for the elven city!"

Don't steal my ideas, please!!! I plan to publish this one day! If you know a publisher, please show them this and help my dream come true!

With the dwarf king and queen in the picture, this is really starting to get exciting.

I agree MAK. Publishing this story would be a good thing for you. I don't know any publishers though.

I've also been thinking of submitting some of my stuff to these websites that publish weird stories. But I haven't decided yet.
