 Near-death experiences
Hey all.
I know I haven't posted in a long, long, LONG time.
I also know that most of my friends probably would have quite by now.
But that's okay.
I'll deal.
What I can't seem to get over, though, is what happened a few weeks ago.
I was going for a baseball game at a diamond in a major city (I'm not saying which, you stalkers XD ). When we got there, everything was okay. My team and I started to warm up and everything, and it was all good. Suddenly, right before we started, a thunderstorm comes along. The umpires say, "okay, go wait in your cars for about 20 minutes. If it doesn't clear up, game's gonna be reschedueled." Everyone complied and went back to their cars. Well, the thunderstorm got worse, and everyone knew the game was called, because the field was flooded anyways. Just before my mom's about to call the coach and see if the game's cancelled (and it was a good thing she called, because of what happened next) a bolt of lightning comes down and hits just down the street from where we parked! The people that were walking on the sidewalk immediatly dropped to the ground, whether from the lightning or because they thought someone was shooting a gun I'm not sure.
It hit right down the street from where we were!!!
After that, we almost got flooded into the city because of all the rain coming down. Underneath almost all the bridges was a lot of water, higher that the car roofs and some places!
The next day, my dad picks me up from my volunteer job and shows me this newspaper article from the internet. "Man Dies in __________". It turns out, the bolt of lighting that had almost hit us had hit someone else, and they died!
It was kinda scary...
I've gotta go back to that city tomorrow for the reschedueled game. And guess what? It's supposed to be thunderstorming in that city tomorrow.
O.o
