Swearing is natural, I don't know why, but it is. Don't blame the schools, don't blame yourselves, don't blame tv. She would have picked it up eventually, and she could have picked up worse! Personally, I swear a lot. Not as much as anyone else I know, sure, but I still swear. But I limit myself. I only occasionally say either "b" words, and I never, ever, EVER say the "f" word!

About your kid not eating, Whit:
Maybe her throat is still hurting her. After I came off of strep throat when I was a kid, I always ate soft foots like pasta, jello, and soup. That was all I ate because, even though my strep was gone, my throat still hurt. Give it time (about a week) and if she still doesn't want to eat the food you cook, THEN tell her eat or go hungry!
Regarding the CO2 decector:
I probably would have done the same thing! The smoke detector keeps going off in my family's kitchen, and it's because when we cook something in the oven the heat makes a bit of smoke. It goes off, like, every night. When I first heard that, I ran upstairs yelling "What the hell's going on???" I thought there really was a fire! I was sooo close to calling 911! So don't worry, you're not the only one!

The one thing I know from watching tv and watching married couples:
Guys don't understand when help is needed around the house. They wouldn't notice if help was needed even if help danced around naked in front of him and yelled, "GO DO STUFF, SHE CAN'T DO IT ALL!!!!!"
Dropping hints doesn't work, either. The best thing I can suggest: just ASK for him to do some stuff, like empty the dishwasher or something like that!
