Okay, so I know this is going to come off as cynical, but it just wrinkles my brow to have seen this particular piece in my local newspaper. The piece to which I am referring is a picture of an infant who died ten years ago on this date; an ad placed by the grieving parents stating that they remember him and still love him dearly. That's all fine and good, and on the surface seems like a most compassionate and loving memorial to a child taken too soon. However, I realized right away that this child will never see this particular newspaper ad in which he is being honored, so for whom REALLY is this piece being published?
The parents? Are they consciously or unconsciously trying to garner sympathy from the public, perhaps in hopes of continuing the status quo of "we are suffering" so give us some more attention? I know...very cynical, huh?
Hey, that's my name, and albeit cynicism is not a popular stance, it reflects my intentions to get down to the nitty gritty in trying to expose the everyday con jobs to which we all fall prey. I'm simply and most emphatically tired of the B.S. perpetuated by the narcissistic thieves in the night, posing as charming do-gooders and/or attention-whores. These thugs have all but taken over our society. In fact, I'm thinking that we are currently living in Narcissist's Hell. We are most assuredly surrounded by narcissists, those people of the "me-me-me, look-at-me" generation. If you AREN'T a narcissist, then you are SUPPLY for the narcissist. In other words, you're his victim. I aim to expose any and all narcissists in my path, and in so-doing, free the "suppliers" from their stronghold.
How's that for donning a pair of rose-colored glasses? See how things look when you get down to the nitty gritty? I love Nitty Gritty Land, even if it doesn't love me. I hope that getting down to the Nitty Gritty will someday be as popular as the Con-Job. Methinks it is the start of a beautiful friendship between Peace and Piss-off.
Yours Truly,
MACynic

Hi olp76! Like you, I, too, have many subjects on which I will be blogging. There's so much to discuss and so little time! :-) Thanks for the welcoming comment! Cheers!

Hi Sprinkles,
Yes, a very cynical view. However, a caveat regarding my blog goes like this. I know these people who put the ad in the paper. They ARE attention whores; and their motives in life in general is to outdo, out-buy, and out-last everyone in their circle of friends and family. That's why this thought even occurred to me in the first place. I'm sure that the non-narcissists would have simply been memorializing their child in this manner, but I truly question the motives of this particular couple due to their everyday actions. That said, perhaps taking a closer look at "why" people do what they do may help to save others from subtle con-jobs in the future. :-)
Your,
MACynical
