 QOD 7/4/08 and HFFP!
Whew!  I made it...I was worried I wouldn't, but we made it back just in time for a QOD and a Happy Fucking Friday People.  And, an extra special Happy Fucking Fourth of July People!  Happy Birthday America!   I hope everyone had a great holiday, I know I am a little tipsy.  One too many frozen margarita's.    But let's get back to business shall we.  The baton was handed to me by cwzywbt and

I follow in the footsteps of the following thoughts.com peeps:
AnotherDaze, Hollis, Easytosay, K.P., Angelwings, Long, TonyRayHutchinson, SpiritualComaPixierose, Smileforthecamera, GeordieDreamer, WhiteKnight, Meredith, Prelude2it, Bullseye, mamacita925, DouglasMB, Mandie142, Ladiegodiva, katydidsanddaisies, Slash, Noahseth, Kaybee, JPB, SeanBarr, Lastblastkl, Tantrictouch, The Al readyJaded, Nakedtruth, chebtastic, WhiteDiamonds, KarKar, Coloradodreamin', Jason, Bootlady, Brainstormer, Heatherslife, Circe,  Roe and cwzywbt.

So as you can see, there are some big shoes to fill.  But being that I'm a little intoxicated, I can't go deep on you folks, my nature is more of the silly kind.  With that said, I had an email sent to me with places and their names.  For example, A&K Lick-A-Chick Drive in Restaurant, I kid you not, that is a real name.  Or Big Dicks Halfway Inn Resort.

So my question is, if you were to start any business, whether it be a restaurant, a club, a cafe, etc., what would you name it and what kind of business would it be?

I pass the baton to pitapie50...good grief...

I always wanted to own a restaurant. I want it on the 101st floor of the empire state building and it would have a 360 degree view of NYC. I would name it "Luci's Diamond in the Sky." :)

Nice name, I would definitely go there.
Coat and tie I assume?
I have owned my own businesses for many years. An aircraft refurbishing company "Orion Aero" at Tucson Intl. airport, and then 'G.O. Air' in a bigger facility, and braching into a side company,G.O. Autobody, because I already owned the space and the equipment. Then, we ran a construction company, 'Pro Construction' out of 'Old Dominion', which has branched off as My sons are also in the business. As it is a family business, I'll leave it at that one.
I would like to own a steakhouse,
I'd like a lodge style building,I would serve the best meat, and I would call it,'The Long Shot'

I would like to have a business called funny business, I had the domain name for awhile, and the corporation name but I stopped paying and someone else took it, now I have one called inspirational ideas, but thats another story

I already have my first customer...Thanks stillkickin :) and may I just say that you have the best name. I giggle everytime I see it. :) Coat and tie, nah, who needs em...no dress code and reasonable prices. Truly a diamond in the sky ;) Wow! Good for you regarding the businesses...hey, I'll call you for some tips if i want to get this restaurant started. "The Long Shot." I like that. You should do it. :)

roe: "Funny Business" is the best fucking name. That sucks that somebody took it...dammit. But I like inspirational ideas, that's nice. :)

I did a a little side business of my own for a while, It was gifts and home decor, It was called,
'Something Special'too ordinary, I know. But I let that go.
There was a hot dog stand in Elsinore California, that had a big sign,
'Wild Weenies' It went out of business, I guess, I don't see the sign amymore.I wanted some friends to have thier pictures taken there.
hmm,I could open a gallery, call it 'Art's Desire'? that could work. I'm too sleepy to be clever, maybe later.

kinda always wanted to own a rock-bar. it'd be a BAR and nightly live gigs for local bands. i guess we could make it a grill too. rockers get hungry too! i'd call it something weird. maybe "the emerald city rock house". i always wanted to name something based on a completely random thought.

I've always wanted to do some art work with colored glass and copper. I guess as simple as it is I'd call it Angie's Art.

There's this cheap motel in the town I was born called "Ronny Dicks'". When I got to be a "big girl" my mom shared the tale 'bout how the boys at her highschool removed the top portion of the "o", making it "Runny Dicks" Motel.

A few years ago, I was going to get into the business of making decorative wreaths. Everyone seemed to have one on the front door. Was gonna name it "Clothes the Door"...dumb. Other dumb ones:
tanning salon called "Tanfastic"
doggy-doo removal group named "Holy Crap"

I've seen a few silly restaurant and hotel names I'm sure would fit in this list nicely.

Amazing you came up with a logical question after getting blitzed on frozen? margaritas:P

I have a few ideas, but I shall keep them mum:)

But, I might like to open an artist studio/movie studio one day where people can come to do artwork(space to brainstorm with a sunroof) and exchange thoughts. I can't think of a clever name at the moment. Surprise, ay?:P

In accordance with one of my (many) pet peeves (and all you Chillbillies in the crowd, please forgive me), I've always wanted to open a restaurant called Hats Off! If you sit down to eat with your (friggin') hat on, my servers will baff it from your head with a nerf bat!
Posted by  BootLady  on 2008-07-05 21:24:57

Dis is a classy joint, huh, bootlady :)
I would go to it just to see that happen. Would they take the bat to phone users and whiny kids parents too? If so, please open a chain!

You people all rock :)

circe, "wild weenies" lol, you gotta love people. I like Arts Desire, it has a nice ring to it. And btw, your always clever :)

Tony, (hotness), if I make my way to Kentucky, Biggy's Bar and Grill will be my first stop ;)

slash, I love your idea! Something like Rock-n-Shots...i'm feeling you on this one. :)

anotherdaze, very cool idea...you can spin angie's art into "Angelic Art." I love stained glass. :)

paperlily, where have you been all my life, you are hysterical :) I really like "Clothes the door!" That's very clever, I would buy a wreath from you. :)

brainstormer, fantastic idea! I can see it now, "Sky's the Limit" art studio. I don't know, I figured I just throw it out there :)

Boot, if you and my dad were single, I would hook you up and you guys could go in business together. He has been known for flipping hats off peoples heads in restaurants. :)

Yah a nice homey bar, with couches and stuff none of this formal seating and decent stage and sound setup for the small bands that can affors thier own. Pleanty of weaal space for the local 'artists' to display suff too. A big ber-garden area with a kick-ass bonfire in winter and a wood-fired oven for pizza makin. and call it

"No F'ing Pokies"

The name alone would keep the place full.

I'd like to open a COFFEE SHOP where you could come and sit and relax, like on friends (corny huh!)

Can't think of a cool name, but how about
LATTES R US
for now.

It would also have shelves of books in it for my drinkers to browse if they dated THEMSELVES!!! lol..

HFFP Luci

Hey Long, I am there, no pokies is a good bloddy thing, I am always looking for a place lik that. We have one in our area that we frequent, just because they don't have pokies (slot machies).

I have alsways wanted to open up a book store. With big winged back charis around the place, an open fire and books galore.

Haven't thought of a good name, but here are some, any sugestions welcome
"Bookworms Barn"
"A novel idea"
"Lost in the magic of books"

just a few

Great question.

Bubba's silky lounge in Portland, Maine and in Hotterville Washington was Dumb Dicks pawn shop and then we had Dumb Dicks daughter. I believe all the rain in Washington state has caused some people to develope mold in their brains.

once again, all you people rock!

Long, I love it! :) Bonfire in the winter and wood fired oven for pizza? Who could ask for more :)

Easy, HFFP! :) "Lattes R Us." That could work! Good day mate...I met this Australian this past weekend and now I can't stop saying it!

KP, hey! :) thanks for clearing up "pokies," for me...so wait, they have slot machines everywhere? I didn't know that. I would come to your bookstore, oh, i have an idea. If you put Easy's coffee shop next door to the bookstore, you girls would make tons of money. I like "A Novel Idea." :)

cheb, "In Cod we Trust," that's perfect! :) "Wok This Way"...lmao! I saw a chinese restaurant called "Fuk Mi." How would you answer the phone if you worked there? :)

Pita, Bubba's silky lounge...any business with the name bubba is great :) "Dumb Dicks," hmmm, must have been a woman owner, which makes it even better. :)

There was a comic strip in a Sunday paper a few weeks ago, "Pearls Before Swine", where the punchline was "Thank Cod Almighty! Free atlas!"

I like the idea of foam bats at a restaurant...or anywhere for that matter where it would be legal for employees to whack those they considered unruly:P I could hit troublesome kids...volatile parents...bickering couples...

I love all the ideas, In Cod We Trust busted me up! Maybe one day I'll own a tanning salon called SunUrBunz. Since I'm a boring school teacher, though, I might open a tutoring service called Brainstormers in honor of our very own. :)

A flower shop named “A Fresh Touch”

I would love to open a flower shop and name it “A Fresh Touch”.

Also, this weekend I was visiting an adult toy store shopping for a bachelorette party, and actually thought to myself that I would like to have a chain of successful adult toy stores. Man I would make a killin’. Besides, I already know the delight of purchasing batteries in bulk… for my job of course!!

I would call it something like “Close Your Mouth, Dear”. HFFP!!

I'd love to open a dance studio or even a dance institute!! I might name it "Twinkle Toes" or "Happy Feet" LOL...ok those are just sad names. Maybe i'll come back to this once i think of a better name :D
