So it was ANZAC day on Friday and htere's been quite a bit of ANZAC stuff on the 'ol idiot box over the weekend most if pretty serious.
As I was working on Friday (yay for working on public holidays. Oh well at least I got double pay) the were quite alot of people in the City first thing in the morning after the Dawn Services. Many people in full military dress of a massive variation in ages al sitting about together talking, some of the scenes made me really wish I had taken my camera in with me.
The one that stood out most though was one cople in particular sitting out the front of a pub having breakfast, one was quite an elderly fellow, taking a guess I'd say well into his 80's in his perfectly preserved and pressed old school uniform, badges shined up and laughing at something the person he was sitting with had said. Across from him in modern camo style fatigues, clean but lived in, with medals on, laughing as well, in his early 20's, with jet black slicked down fringe Emo.
it really was quite an interesting sight, had me smiling.
