After she said she's coming with me I wondered if that's a good idea. After a few seconds of a pause that felt like hour's, I started walking to the stairway, opened the door, and looked behind me. I didn't see Joice anywhere, so I yelled her name a couple of times, no anwswer came. I pondered if they got her, that would be tragic, but I had to get to the cellar to see if Prof. C. is still alive, if he wasn't then the whole city would be doomed. I headed downstairs, destroying one by one, these vampire like creautures, when something hit me. My shoulder was pounding, I ripped off my shirt, and looked at it. There was a scratch, a mark from that beast that attacked me after I talked to Jeremy. My life was flashing through my eyes. "That explains all the crazyness with me, before I was scared of dogs," I laughed. " I have to find Cornelius now," I thought.
As I was walking furthur and furthur down the stiarwell, I kept thinking why the hell wasn't I one of them? I should of been projected and forced to be one, with the amount of bacteria that scratch had infected me with. I hit the cellar door, and watched it fly into the darkness. I screamed into the shallow room, " CORNELIUS! where are you?!" The echo of the room was intence, but I could still hear something behind my voice saying, "who is there?" I looked around and saw Cornelius on the ground curled up. I told him to get off his ass and finish that anti-seruim, now!
He looked at me with filth in his and said, "Your one of them aren't you." He grabbed my arm and tryied to get up.
I replied not to subtle, "NO!" I threw him back to the ground. I quickly picked him back up again, and appologized. "Im so sorry Profes. C. ive been having a bad morning."
"I can tell son, help me out here, before you become those horrid creatures," he said."
He continued to tell me what wen't wrong in the experiement's. He unfortanantly had collected a virus in Africa, that had never been discovered. It was in the depth's of a cave, where legend's around there say, that if you go in these cave's you become immortal, powerful, a monster. I looked at him with a smile, "So I guess it's true huh?"
He slapped me over the head and told me not to joke.
"Ok, ok," I said. As he continued to explain that he found an anti-seruim that isolates the virus and destroys it the very second it's injected. He looked at me, and told me how it worked, and where to put it.
"You must take one swipe into the heart, after that time will tell," he said, " Why haven't you turned into a full one yet? How long have you been infected?"
"About an hour, why?" I replied.
"Wow," he took his hat off and continued, "You should of been ready to attack me by now, maybe, your amune to this virus." He looked at me with a curious face. "Do you want the anti-seruim?" he said.
I looked down, and thought, "no."
I told Cornelius to gather up his work, and let's head out of this building once and for all. We headed up stair's without any trouble, but maybe a few people trying to kill us. I took care of that of course. I looked at Cornelius and said, "this is a nightmare sir, I can't wait to wake up." He laughed at me and didn't say anything. We got the the lobby where I have been so many time's this day, and we walked under the archway, and out of this horrible nightmare.
"What about the whole city sir, is the whole city dead like this?" I said.
"Yes, yes it is." he replied.
"Then what now, where are we suppose to go?"
I looked around the cold dead city, and wondered if Joice was alright.
We walked through the parking lott, to my car. When I unlocked the door and got in, Joice put her hadn on my shoulder saying, "sorry hun, but I knew I wouldn't make it with you, so I left."
"Thats alright." I wispered. We started up the car, hoping to go somewhere without chaos.
