The Ten Commandments.
So looking back on the situation, here are the things that I should have investigated. I've made an easy to read list for all those people that are playing the dating game.

#1. When a man leaves his wallet on the table first date, he is just dumb, maybe he is not a liar, maybe he is trustworthy, maybe he is not, but dumb certainly. So drop him like he's not hot.  Right then. No don't search his wallet, just f***ing leave him and his wallet at the table and dont stop walking til you are running and don't stop running  til you're driving.

#2. When a man avoids talking about his exes, or talks too much about his exes, it usually isn't because he is hurt, its because he is still attached.

#3. When  a man takes his cell phone into the bathroom and takes longer in the bathroom than he should he either needs to see a gastroentologist or he is calling a girl who may or may not be his wife, but definately a girl, or a gay guy.

#4. When a man cleans up your apartment, he is compensating for an abomination. When a man cleans out your microwave, he is married to someone other than you or gay.

#5. When a man sends you flowers, just to be nice in the first month of dating, he is feeling guilty about something and its something you don't know about. Burn the flowers.

#6. When a geeky "single" man feels the need to make his myspace page private, he is hiding something.

#7. When someone says that a 1 hour and 45 minute drive doesn't bother them, they have left something behind they don't want to think about and they don't want you to know about.

#8. When your grandma is calling you about things all the time youre a grandmamas boy without a spine, just threw that in for shats and giggles.

#9. When you feel like you can trust someone, don't trust them, let them earn your trust, otherwise they won't care about betraying it.

#10. If there is something you think you shouldn't ask someone that is the very thing you need to ask them, you may look insecure but its better to be insecure with a trustworthy person than secure with someone that is untrustworthy. Explain it just like that, and a guy will understand if he is worth a damn. If he doesn't understand, take his degrees off the wall, remove them from their frames flush them down the toilet. He won't understand that either, which is why he needs to go back to the old school.

I agree with you kind of. Yes,some men can and will do many crazy things, but so do some women. It's impossible to lump every man or every woman into your set of rules.Yes,people in general are weak, make mistakes and will eventually hurt us, but that's part of life. Everytime we pick ourselves off the ground and keep moving forward we learn and we grow.Going through life not trusting, waiting to be disappointed is a waste of time. One day that right person will come along, and you'll never see them because your too busy waiting for things to fall apart.

Well these are the rules I made after learning the hard way. Ha. Here is the thing, things don't fall apart for everyone, I know a lot of people that haven't endured any trauma in the love department.....then there's me. I know the world isn't fair, but for the ones like me we gotta sleep with one eye open, the older you get the more scoundrels you meet, or so I am finding.
