Blind love? It doesn't actually exist. Love always exists for a reason, even if the reason is quite superficial. One can love, superficially, at least, because of the observation of mere physical beauty. One can love because of the observation of more substantial beauty (e.g., honor, discipline, honesty, compassion, forebearance, grace). One can love because one has been loved (which requires that the original lover love for one of the other reasons).

Love between friends is that love that recognizes faults in one another yet choses not to take them into account, allowing friends to accept one another despite their frailties and failings, and making them willing to sacrifice for each other despite their moral weaknesses and failings.

Love between a couple is similar to love between friends; but in its infancy, and, if people are lucky, even into its advanced stages, it is nurtured with physical intimacy, the physical intimacy being a profound expression (dance?) of the deeper interpersonal intimacy that exists between the couple.

Love between parents and their children also is like that of friends, only lacking the equality that exists between friends.

MyGallimaufry you really know how to distinguish between some similarities...some people need to hear it...I know a man who was so spoiled that he wanted his wife to give him the love of a mother...thankyou for all your replies!!! what thoughts.com is lacking is alarming when there would be a comment for surveys too!!!
