I have tried several times to post a blog, but it wouldn't accept the security code they gave me. So I am going to try again.
Everything is settling down. I'm getting back to a routine, except for mowing twice a week to keep up with all the rain we are getting. My heart goes out to those in the flood areas. I can't even imagine losing everything I own. If I could do something to help those people I would. I just wonder when the weather will calm down and give all of us a break!
Now that summer has officially arrived, I'm sure the heat will be coming. At least this year, I don't have two utility payments every month. Whew! What a relief! I might have a chance at getting a little saved for a good Christmas this year. Yes, this is the time of year I start thinking about Christmas. The last few years I was down to the wire shopping. This year, I hope to get back to buying early, while things are on sale. I did that for several years. It would drive my daughter crazy after she opened her presents to find out they were hidden in the house for months and she didn't know it! LOL
I am sorry to hear the passing of George Carlin. He is such a legend! I took my daughter to see him when she was 13 years old. She thought he was hilarious! He stuck with his comedy roots and didn't step over to movies as most of the comediens today. Bless you George and God speed!
I was listening to a radio show this morning. It cracks me up how everyone complains about the price of everything. What do you expect from people who no longer want to live the 'American Dream' comfortably? The more you have, the better you feel. Greed is all it comes down to. People take, but don't want to give back. We have turned into the most self indulging people in the world. Sad. I don't want the best of everything! Why? Even if I won the lottery, I don't want a million dollar home, expensive cars, jewelry, etc. I just don't want the worry living paycheck to paycheck. That is why most people that win the lottery are broke within five years. If you manage your money smart, you will never have to work again during your lifetime. But it figures I won't ever win. LOL I have too much common sense. It is a nice dream though! LOL
