Lex any parent of a kid over the age of 13 if they have 1/2 a brain realize this, they just will not acknowledge that their kids (mine included in this) have managed to outwit their "fucking retard" parents again. Blinkers and parenthood seem to go hand in hand and each successive generation seems to pull the wool over their parents eyes far sooner than the generation before.

There's also the little problem of the law and it is now no longer legal to beat the crap out of your kid when that kid embarrasses the shit out of you, which is no excuse to allow the "give me pig" generation to get away with the things that they get away with, but at least as a parent there is someone else to blame.

These brats could teach us all a thing or two if they weren't so self absorbed.

Very true about the new found political correctness that has fallen upon the way discipline is issued to children these days - I know I got a few beatings in my life, and it definitely taught me a thing or two! So yes, this is one avenue to put some blame on the government, but essentially I wouldn't think this would be a major factor regarding the behaviour of kids today and their parents reaction to things.

The thicker the wool becomes, the worse things kids are getting up to.

And regarding the calibre of students I encounter in my classrooms and their total disinterest in learning, perhaps they could teach us something if they actually applied themselves. For the time being, narcissism is consuming their functional brains.

Lex, the quotation marks were not a quote from your blog, but how I view a lot of parents these days (fucking retards), they do not discipline little Johnie and little Johnie can do no wrong, and no Johnie would never do that, Johnie has never been taught any respect for any one (I've very carefully left off the quotation marks this time). There actually is a whole lot of little Johnie's I could very cheerfully strangle.

I have great respect for anyone who chooses to teach high school these days and I think they are very, very brave, and feel that perhaps security camera's are a good idea.
