 My Legal Resume and Background
I moved this from "About Me;" it was too long and distracting.  If you really need to know, here is my profile (purloined from my website):

John McFarland practices law in Houston, Texas with Winstead PC.

John is a native Houstonian with a broad trial practice that focuses on complex business litigation, including lender liability suits and real estate litigation. He has also tried a variety of civil cases to the bench and the jury in state and federal courts, including products liability, premises liability and construction cases. He has briefed and argued several cases to the Fifth Circuit and state courts of appeal.

John takes on his clients’ problems as his own so that they can concentrate on their business. He tempers an aggressive approach to litigation with collegiality and a respect for the process and participants, always keeping an eye to his clients' big-picture strategy. He grasps complex business concepts and problems and breaks them down in a way that helps his clients make the right call. While John is very personable, it is his intensity and commitment to excellence that gives his clients their best chance at trial to tell their story.

John’s breadth of experience has given him deep insight into risk analysis for businesses faced with complex legal problems. He has a keen moral compass that helps him guide his clients – not only to be on the right side of the law but on the right side of the story. Keeping his clients out of court, or getting a business deal out of litigation and back on track, are among the most valuable client services he provides.
