Hello again!! It's been about three weeks since the last time that I wrote everyone, but here I am again...in a different country. Italy has been awesome, okay well at least now that I am here and have my luggage. Okay let me tell you the story. I was scheduled on the flight to get here on April 1st leaving Louisville on the 31st. Well the night before I am leaving I am looking around getting stuff together and I can't find my passport!!!! Oh, my goodness me and my parents looked everywhere I think at one point we looked in the refrigerator:) Anyways, after a long night of looking and still not finding it anywhere we resorted to have to send off and get one expedited. So I had to change my flight to leave the 4th which was a friday (which cost a ton of money) and my passport wasn't cheap either. So Friday it was, got to the airport after a great breakfast at Lynn's get checked in with my new passport in hand and get through security get to the gate...delayed....argh!! I wait and wait finally an hour and a half after I was supposed to have left I board the plane. I am thinking okay, I have 20 minutes once I land in Philly to get to my international gate that leaves for Milan...I am good. Pilot comes on the mic and says we are about 20 minutes away from Philly but they have put us in a holding pattern so we should be on the ground in 45 minutes!!! what???!!! Your kidding me right? I talk to the stuardess and ask her what I should do, she said a lot of flights had been delayed so I might be okay, just to get off the plane and run:) Oh, thanks for the confidence lady ha ha. As we pull into the gate she rings someone and they say my flight to Milan has been delayed but they think that it's boarding right now. So off I go from the F concourse all the way to the end of A, practically running in flip flops with a backpack and a carryon bag. Get there in enough time to call mom and tell her I made it, give the people my ticket and jump on the plane. I sit down and there was a ray of light, the person sitting next to me moved to sit with a friend so I had two seats to myself so I crashed for ninety percent of the flight!! Rock on, wake up and we are landing in Milan. Getting through customs I walk out to get my luggage....Um... no luggage!!! I wait and wait and wait, they say to wait so I wait....File a claim and wait. Finally they tell me to go ahead and my luggage will be shipped to me Ok!! Well, I walk out the doors and meet Giorgio, he speaks great English as he lived in Detroit for 17 years, really good guy and his friend Mark who doesn't speak hardly any english. We head off for our 3 hour drive across Italy to get to Rimini. I was so tired, but Giorgio was a very talkative person:) We get here and meet two of the girls at the Physio and go grab lunch. Oh, wait I haven't mentioned that our first game was that night did I? So here I am standing in my room with nothing to wear for the game, my uni wasn't there yet, I didn't have any cleats, glove, bat...nothing. I was walking around like a lost little kid. Well finally we got everything put together and we played. Let me tell you it's a great way to get to know people, just play a softball game with them. Games were at 6 and 8:30 and we won both. Nobody in Italy thought we had a chance against the previous number 2 team in Italy, but we had a comeback win in the first game and a mercy win in the second....Go Team!! After the game we went for Pizza and let me tell you....so good!!! And after finally eating I was ready for bed. I crawl into the apartment around midnight and sleep till 2 the next day. Get up and get dressed for the baseball game....we went and watched the San Marino baseball team play against the Rimini baseball team. Then we went out with the San Marino club for dinner that night. It was a blast!! I didn't think it was possible to meet so many cool people in such a short time, but it's been awesome!! Can't wait to meet more. The girls that I am rooming with are great, they are so much fun and took care of me incredibly as I didn't have ANY clothes till yesterday night...I owe them big!!
Well, sorry for the incredibly long story, but I wanted to keep you updated on whats going on. I am trying to upload some pictures soon. Love you,
Lacy
