Congress has shit in our mess kit

Congress has a 19% approval rating, 10 points below Bush, and it is deserved.The folks should be sent home.

First, these clowns have kept anyone from drilling off our shores, except now the Chinese are drilling 60 miles from Tampa and Hugo Chavez is drilling 40 miles from Key West,on behalf of Castro; so what is the thought process here...? Keep Exxon from drilling but let the commies drill all they want. I think they can have oil spills as well as Exxon.
Second, they stall gas mileage standards for 8 years..it is no accident that all of the mileage legislation committees are chaired by Senators and Congressmen from Michigan. They can blame it on Bush, but they are the ones who stalled the bills.
Third, they passed the ethanol legislation that was meant to buy votes in the farm belt knowing full well that the ethanol production used more fuel than it produced. If they were really interested, they would have let Brazil ship in their sugar cane ethanol, but it is taxed to death...so there was no real commitment here.Now Brazil has found other markets. Now, we have driven food prices worldwide to a shortage level of pricing and the US is now importing wheat because farmers can get more for their wheat overseas than if they sell it in the US...so out the door it goes.IN EFFECT THEY HAVE CAUSED A FOOD SHORTAGE IN THEIR EFFORTS TO BUY VOTES. AND THUS, FAR, THEY HAVE NOT MADE ANY CHANGES TO THE LAW. Idiots!
The other day they tried to tax windfall profits of Exxon, etc. This is supposed to help? Will Exxon not just add this tax on at the pump. They make 4% on oil, and they are going to make it no matter what. 4% of $1.00 is .04, 4% of $4 is .16, so Congress can't do math.The higher they drive the price the more oil companies make.Exxon and the rest will just move their HQ to bermuda or Mexico and take the $5 Billion they pay in taxes and payrolls with them. Stanley Tools moved out of Taxachusetts to Bermuda 5 years ago because they could not compete in the world market with US and state taxes added on to their corporate profits.

Fourth';you cannot build a refinery in this country without spending billions on licensing,and permits, so they just build them elsewhere. Oil companies don't care where they sell their oil/gas, they just want to keep it moving. When the Chinese get their 30 new refineries built, they will ship it there. Congress uses the EPA to get rid of "dirty" industries ,such as polyvinylchloride which have left the US and moved to India and such.It is unrealistic to think that in the global economy that we can ship our "dirty" industries to other countries and not have them sell the products to the highest bidder. Eventually these will come back or we will learn to live without them due to their expense on the wqorld market. Try buying your cheese in a brown bag.
Fourth, they have this "cap and trade" tax they want to implement where you will be taxed on your carbon emissions above a certain amount. This is going to be a $6 trillion tax windfall. You can by credits from Congress, or Al Gore. All for co2 emissions that the founder of the Weather Channel calls a giant Scam.

Among the cruelest scams from Congress is the cfl light bulb. It releases mercury gas when broken so they will have to be recycled and you have to call HAZ Mat if you break one in your house. Last week several bulbs broke at a Home Depot and they had to close the store and no one, not the EMT's, the hospital, or their management knew what to do. They outlawed the regular bulb in 2012, so stock up before then.

My point is this: no one currently serving in Congress deserves to return. They have all been self serving ass holes and need to be sent home, My motto isthat if they are an incumbent, they will not get my vote. Theys topped listening to us a long time ago.
