| Big Ten embarrassed again

Well, Michigan pulled one out for the Lloyder, but the selection of Illinois to the Rose Bowl was an embarrassment to the Big Ten...again. The Rose Bowl could have taken Missouri, Michigan, hell, even Hawaii, but they went with the motel owners choice: Illinois, who has not been to a bowl in this century. The result was known before hand, as USC should be in the national Championship game against LSU, but USC put them away about 7 minutes into the game, and it was a yawner after that.
Along with the Rose Bowl committee, the BCS is to blame, because the rightful team should have be Ohio State, but they inadvertantly backed into the BCS Champioship by playing a weak schedule loaded with the likes of Youngstown State (DIV. 2), Kent State, Bowling Green, etc. Apparently The Little Sisters of the Poor were busy, probably playing Purdue. Purdue was 5-0 against the MAC and should have been declared the MAC champion, but they are in the Big Ten (which, of course has 11 teams).
Now we have watch another potential National Championship game where OSU stands around wondering how they deal with speedy guys from the South. You, of course, get ready for these kinds of games by actually playing speedy teams from the South rather than tiny, slow teams from Akron, during the non-conference season. So, OSU gets another $8 million payday for playing no one. And another embarrassment.
Hope I am wrong, but it sure looks like an LSU blow out.
