What is love?
How can one define something that can be described in so many ways?
I don't understand it. Webster's dictionary lists 14 different definitions for the noun "love", the first being:
1.a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
But what makes a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person love? Wouldn't if just be "a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person"?
The seventh definition is listed as "sexual intercourse; copulation."
Has the world really gotten to that point? Where sex is love and love is sex?
What if I say love is his eyes when he looks at me and sees right into me? Or love is that feeling after we make love and everything feels right in the world? What if I say love is when he makes me smile or brightens my day? Are those definitions 15, 16, and 17?
How can you define it?
You can't. You can try to put it into words but there just are some things you can't explain.
And if you and I live in a world where love can be defined as "sexual intercourse" by modern day definition then why should I believe in it at all? Why should I give a damn about something like love then? The world's telling me that love is passionate affection for another person or sexual intercourse or copulation. If sex is love and love is sex then why do I need love when I can have sex?
One in the same?
So tell me this....
why should I believe in love anyway?
