Read in the news on Monday, May 12, that Mei Lanfang's 4th son - Mei Baosheng -- died due to a long illness at age 83.

Though born in a operatic family background, Mei Baosheng did not inherit the art.  He was a senior architect in one of Beijing Architectural company.  

It was reported that during the filming of Mei Lanfang, Mei Baosheng was very anxious about the filming process and had inquired often on the progress.  At his deathbed, he expressed regret that he was unable to see the movie of his legendary late father.

Mei Baojiu is the youngest son of Mei Lanfang.
