Of the Miracles of Mohamed prayer and peace upon him

Asking Allah for Rain

Ibn Is, Haq and Ibn Hesham narrated:

“When people rose in the morning having no water, they told Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him asked his lord (for water) and his Lord sent a cloud which rained until every one had enough to drink, and they carried the water they need”.

This happened to the army which marched from Medina to Tabouk, near the border or Jordon, and this was after the Muslims took Makah.  This army marched in summer which was a particularly hot summer, in an area which is a dry desert, particularly in summer.  The army consisted of thirty thousand men with their animal, like horses, camels and mules.

When the water of the army ran out, and they were still in a dry desert, Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him raised his hands to his Lord and asked Him to water them.  Soon afterwards, Allah the Highest sent them clouds which rained so much, all the thirty thousand men had enough to drink and to water thousands of animal, and carry the water they needed.  This was at a time when it did not normally rain.

This was Allah the Highest honouring and blessing Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him and showing every one Mohamed’s status with Allah the Highest.  It was also giving the Muslims morale support when they were marching to possibly fight the Roman Empire. 

Allah’s prayer and peace be upon Mohamed, our prophet and messenger and upon his family and companions.
