I am Suzan Pauley, an outside sales rep and avid traveler from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I have been wearing contacts since I was 17 years old, but lately when I put my contacts in, my eyes would water and hurt. My bad eyes were affecting my everyday life and getting in the way of my traveling.

My vision had become intolerable at work. On the days my eyes were hurting, I wasn’t able to see well enough to drive around and make my sales calls. My terrible vision was putting a real damper on my sales. Then a time finally came where I said, “enough is enough”; it happened on a cruise last November.  I remember being on the ship, and I wasn’t sure if it was the salt water or something else, but my eyes were hurting worse than they ever had.  The pain was so bad, I was not able to put my contacts in, and I didn’t have any prescription sunglasses with me since this had never happened before. So there I was, stuck on a cruise ship, out in the sun, with watering eyes- it was miserable! When I got home, I decided that I was not going to do this anymore.

After my cruise, I was at the salon getting my hair done, and I mentioned to my hair stylist that I was in need of a new eye doctor. She recommended the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center. My stylist told me she knew at least ten other people who were patients at Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center, and they were all happy with the results of the procedures they had done there.

I quickly sent an email to Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center to set up a Lasik consultation, and I heard back immediately. I spoke with Kleiman Evangelista, and they got me in for an appointment that same afternoon.  When I arrived at the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center, I was impressed. Dr. Evangelista and all the technicians at the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center were wonderful. Everyone was very knowledgeable, and all my questions were answered. Dr. Evangelista made me feel like I was his only patient for the entire day.

My consultation at the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center was quick and easy; I was only there for about ten minutes.  Dr. Evangelista checked my eyes and could tell very quickly that I was not a candidate for the traditional Lasik procedure because my eyes were too dry and my corneas were too thin. I was disappointed, but Dr. Evangelista let me know I had other options, one of which was the Crystalens HD porcedure.

Dr. Evangelista explained the Crystalens HD procedure to me, and he let me know this two-step procedure would be my best choice for restored vision.  About 10 days before my actual procedure, I went to the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center so they could put tiny slits in my eyes, this was so that pressure would not build up during surgery. Dr. Evangelista told me this would be the worst part of the Crystalens HD procedure, and I didn’t think it was painful! The day of my actual Crystalens HD procedure was easy and pain-free. I came to the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center at 9:00 A.M. and was done by 10:30 A.M. I went in for a quick check-up that afternoon, and I have had no problems since-it was a piece of cake!

The Crystalens HD procedure I had at the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center has made a huge difference in my life. It is so nice not to have to worry about having my glasses or prescription sunglasses with me while I am at work, and I can actually see when I am driving. It is also great to be out in the sun again; now when I travel I don’t have to take extra contacts and solution with me, and I can buy any pair of sunglasses I choose with no worries. When I am out in the sun, my eyes no longer hurt and water uncontrollably.

I was amazed by the quality of care at the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center. Thanks to Dr. Evangelista, my Crystalens HD procedure, and the entire Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center team, my vision is restored, my life is much easier, and that is the way it should be!

*As with any vision correction procedure, results may vary patient to patient. Most patients report improved immediate vision. Additionally, the majority of our patients continue to experience improvement in their vision for up to six months.
