On Tuesday my friend collapsed in the street and had some kind of seizure . As we walked to the convenience store he complained of feeling ' spaced out ' . Upon beginning to ascend the stairs approaching the shop he cried out ( in pain I assume ) and began to double over . I thought he was just going to faint and I caught him and made sure he did not hit his head . Because we were halfway up a short stairway it was hard to move him properley into the crash position . As I moved him on his side he began to convulse and his breathing sounded constricted . I made sure his airway was clear and cradled his head and neck . His face momentarily became an ashen grey colour . Some other people called an ambulance and they arrived fairly quickly . I could not judge the response time as I was too busy dealing with the matter at hand . After the collapse and seizure ( which lasted I think between 20 and 40 seconds ) he was very confused and did not seem to know where he was or what was going on . When asked if he would like to be assisted in moving to the shade while we waited for the ambulance he did not seem to be able to understand the question initially . The ambos did their job and took his blood pressure and other things and took him to hospital .
I am a highly strung person and am easily agitated but in those type of situations I feel very calm . I think that is unusual .
