Religion has become stale.
When I first joined Thoughts.com I was a Christian in his prime singing the praises of Jesus for all to hear and denying evidence that no God exists. Many, MANY, things have changed since that time. Constantly definding my posts to aetheist and evolutionist has skewed my view on the subject to this: I personally believe that there may be a God, that maybe Jesus did everything it is said he did, but there is no proof.

No proof what-so-ever exists of God, we are told by true believers that their proof is the way God helps them in their lives, it just seems so convient that the only proof they have to speak of is the kind that can't be...well, proven. I have become an agnostic as I do somewhat believe in God at this point, but any concrete evidence would completley sway me one way or another.

To thoses who are faithful Christains or Jews, consider this: every culture has a God, and a prophet to match, and just as their ideas seem ridiculous to us, as do ours to them. In Greece many Gods were belived in, we know them now to be false (majority says) and we now worship and faceless deity in their place. What makes our God now any more believable than there Gods then? They had no proof, or contact with their Gods, neither do we, so how is ours real and theirs not? It also seems during bible times God did a lot of talking to people, but his is awfully quiet nowadays...odd.

Basically I believe science in life, it is the onlty tool we have to cure the many diseases, and ailements in life. A friend of mine just discovered he had cancer at 17. So you best believe I'm praying.....for Chemo to cure him. Because cancer seems to kill so many, I don't think prayer would help right now. The only thing that keeps us tied to any God is death, the promise of "something better" after we die. That seems like an explanation not a truth. In fact most facets of religion seem like little more than explanations for things in everyday life. "We can't explain it...so God did it, end of story. Now at this exact moment I am living as a Gay 17 year old so I give this issue thought daily, but I think it is up to prefernce. If it makes you happy to believe in God then who are aetheist to tell you your ideas are wrong, and vice versa. We should stop arguing and just start learning to enjoy life, cause as far as we know we only get it once. We will find the truuth after this life is over, but until there is substantial proof in either belief label me undecided, but leaning...towards a God.

What if God wanted you to decide in this life? I guess it would be safer to accept Him on faith right now than to be proven wrong after death.

The Little country of Israel has the written history of GOD. The events, the places,Kind of hard to find it in Egyptian history as they like a clean and perfect slate so they erased a lot of the Ramses era. That's right there is a lot of "proof". Other ancient history make mention of the God of Israel. Google or search up CREATION SCIENCE. You will find the truth of so many things. Did you know it only takes as little as 25 to 30 years for a fossil to form? All it takes it the right conditions. Who but A Creator could make a Camen and an Elephant, a moth and a Condor? Nothing in Times hands made it, NO, Time is subject to God. And God Is supreme

Spook is right better to err on the side of caution. Besides why let the ""accuser of the brethren"" have his way? You know he is laughing at you. Speak the name of Jesus and say by by to the spirit of doubt

Praying intently for your mind to be released of lies and doubt.

Do you know anyone he has ever spoken to? Has he ever spoken to you? What did he say if he did?

I don't particularly have any problem with religion. I would love to believe in christianity. But some things in the bible appear to merley be human commentary. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it all is...but the part pertaining to homosexuality erks me. Because it sounds like elitist human logic to me. I doubt that God would make someone one way, but want him to live his life suppresing himself

Nothing in the Word is Human commentary.
Read some of the books that were taken out of the Modern Bible. You will see how the human comments pale, beside the illuminated Word.

It is elite, to be sure but no one is restricted in joining the body. People do despise being told they are in sin.... Remember God is Holy, Pure, He cannot abide the moral wrong we do, we have to keep shedding it, because we are forgiven. We are not perfect and not expected to be perfect but we follow the Perfect One. Adopt His ways.
