I went on song meanings.com to see what a lot of other people thought about the content of this song and I didnt agree with a lot of them.

I think in this song they are trying to get out a message of how far technology and war has taken over the world since several years ago. I dont think it's about glabal warming or a bad date,or his last days on earth... I think they are trying to say to people to just think back on what has happened over the years. We have been fighting for peace ever since people existed and we always fight it with violence. We have always had the latest and greatest in technology since technolog has been around though we are never satisfied with what is there for us when it is and somehow we always create bigger better things to entertain us. I believe the world is burning to the ground, like they say, simply because we as humans are never satisfied and we keep consuming and consuming when we refuse to give anything back. Well what happens when nothing more can be invented? When every cell phone ever thought of is already out? when all the hybrid cars turn into hovercrafts and we no longer drive on roads? Believe it or not this is where our world is going. We advance so much every day in technology that eventually we'll have to run out. I'm not saying this is going to happen in my lifetime or anytime soon... I just believe it will. and when it does... I feel sorry for that time era. As long as global warming hasnt taken care of the earth and all forms of human nature before then.

This song means a lot to me and I believe it with everything inside and outside of my body.

I just wish everyone else did.
