 The flu takes two!
As soon as I woke Saturday morning I knew.......pounding head, heart racing, sweats, chills, hacking cough and aching from head to foot.....the dreaded flu!  Well, everyday since has been spent in bed.....resting that is!  Yesterday morning I dragged myself and Miss 6 who was also unwell with fevers, cough and headaches to the doctors.  Two hours we were there, waiting to see the doc, waiting for a chest x-ray, waiting for results, waiting at the pharmacy, all the while holding my head in my hands hoping I wouldn't vomit over the next poor unfortunate soul who came near me (sorry, TMI!)  Oh, add Aunt Flo to the equation and I'm sure no one would want to cross me either.  And the verdict? Influenza!  Well sorry, I probably could have told him that...but I appreciated his help all the same.  The last time I got the flu was a couple of years ago and I developed pneumonia, not a nice mix and yes, I confess, this year I did not get my flu shot.  Lesson learned!

So four days later and this is the first time I've stayed out of bed for longer than ten minutes.....yay!  Even a ten minute phone conversation finds me needing to return to bed for a rest and a "nanna nap".  I started to feel very nauseated, but I think that's taking strong pain medication  on a very empty stomach.  Then low and behold, chicken soup arrived this morning on my doorstep......from my MIL!!!!  There must be a heart in there somewhere!  Just a shame I rarely see it.

So now it is time again for Miss 6 and I to return to bed for a cuddle, sleep and a snooze, all this typing has simply worn me out! *lol*  But tomorrow I have to get out to see Master 8 off to his first ever school camp. But that's another blog!

Hope everyone is great!

Easy- Master 8 just walked in with a temperature telling me he has a headache....No! He can't miss school camp, we've worked too hard to prepare him for it. Needless to say, I've already dosed him up with paracetamol :)

Wishing you and Miss 6 a speedy recovery:) When I was working in the pharmacy we had been working a very busy stretch. Everyone was getting pooped from the hours we were putting in...dreaded flu season. I made one of the biggest mistakes. I joked that I hope I caught the flu so I could get some much needed rest...be careful what you ask for...I came down with the symptoms that night. Good grief served me right...I learned my lesson.
Take care and get well:)

Oh I hope you feel better soon. Both of you!

I hate that your daughter had to get it too. Anyway it may be for the better because if she wasn't down too it would be hard for you to take care of her when you can't get up!

The doctors office leaves you waiting that long taking chances other people there would pick it up?! That is one of the reasons I hate going to the doctor and hospital. I'm aways afraid what I'm leaving with that I got from there.

Being sick is no fun. Saying a prayer that you feel better soon. Peace.
