 Suburban Princess
Blood shot eyes
With a face of stone
A suburban princess
In a broken home

Talented young lady
Nurtured soul
Loved behind addiction
Lies untold

The houses she passes
All look the same
Windows and shutters
Yards for play

Behind closed doors
They hide the truth
Medication and infidelity
Corrupting the youth

Church going hypocrites
Forcing their beliefs
Each night returning home
To their lies and deceit

Inherited scandal
For the princess of comfort
Hidden agenda
Behind denial and hurt

Cold linoleum floor
Against skin burning from anger
Curled in a ball in the bathroom
Escaping the danger

A permanent smile
Practiced for years
Fake wide eye interest
Crying without tears

Secrets kept hidden
Like yours, the pain is constant
She hurts too
She just looks better doing it.

Black and white composition notebook, pen on paper poem. Tight rubber band around it, hidden in a different place each time. That’s how I used to write and this poem came from within those pages. I miss that notebook, it lacked the comments from people but there’s something about a piece of work that is not shared that is more holy to me. But this one is here to share today.

My comments to you get really repetitive dont they? :) Why dont you write something totally useless one day so that i'll have something different to say? :P
You're a talented writer, Molly...great work :)
