 Part 1 - Midnight Stranger
The waves crashed against the white sand, the crickets chirped in unison, and the trees blew a warm breeze through the flowing curtains in Kinsey's open window. She lay asleep in her lavish, plush bed that was decked in pink and white. Her dark blonde hair was swept to the side, a few stray strands cascading down her silently still face. A dim pink light shone from the decorative figure that sat beside her clock on the bedside table showing 12:00am. She slept peacefully although all her friends were out tonight, knowing she had work early in the morning. Her big hazel eyes popped open without warning and she slowly became coherent and aware of her surroundings.

What had woke her from her peaceful slumber? One moment she was lost in dreams of traveling abroad and meeting foreign men who swept her off her feet and the next she was wide awake with the strangest feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something felt out of place, an eery breeze sent a chill up her spine. She pulled the feather down comforter up to her chin and rolled to a laying position on her back. She stared up at the ceiling fan, scanning her eyes around her familiar room to finally stop at the open window in the distance. She rose slowly from the bed sheets and slipped her pink fuzzy slippers on, stretching a little by habit as she made her way through the dimly lit room.

She loved the smell of the ocean and didn't think she would ever tire the freshness that surrounded her since she moved to the California coastline 2 months ago, taking a year off before starting college. She looked out the window and saw the dark water spread into an endless horizon, moonlight dancing on the black abyss. She watched the movement of the water and saw distant lights flickering from the others that shared her shore-side abode.

To the right there was a big dock that usually sat empty during the slow months outside of vacation season. She then noticed a boat that she had never seen before. It was amazing yet simple but more inviting then anything and that startled her. From the bright lights within she could see moving shadows. Listening closer she heard music and voices coming from the direction of the boat but couldn't quite be sure whether or not it came from the strange boat or any of her new friends living the full-blown party life. She squinted her eyes a bit admiring the mystery presented in front of her in the manifestation of something she was so familiar with, big people toys. Growing up a real estate king's daughter she knew all too well about materialistic desires and the fun money could buy. Her dad had 4 boats that she could remember off the top of her head and that was just his collection from before she moved out for the year. She knew he and her step-mother had done a lot of traveling this year so Lord only knows what new toys he had invested in since she left home.

Just as she thought about all the things she missed about home, from her huge waterfall in her pool to her gorgeous bathroom attached to her bedroom she saw a shadow move from within the window and become a distant silhouette gracefully stepping into the night. He moved around the side of the boat and jumped onto the dock making his way to the nearby bathroom up the beach, nearer to her. As he moved closer and the moonlight scanned his face she was stunned by his beauty. His chiseled features gave way to big eyes, which she could not see the color from her 3rd floor apartment. His mouth was tight in a straight line and his expression was if he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He was dressed in a white cotton button down shit, only the bottom few buttons done, exposing a muscular and tan chest. His khaki shorts led down to his tattooed calves which led down to his bare feet padding against the sand. She sighed and leaned over the window seal, knocking off the scented candle that was sitting on it. "Shit!" she said and he looked up at the exact moment she realized she had drawn attention to her staked out position creepily admiring him. She quickly snapped the curtains together and felt all the blood rush to her face. She ran to her bed and lay back down.

Kinsey fought the urge to peak back out the window to see what had happened to her midnight stranger but slowly her eyes closed and after her mind stopped racing she felt her body relax. She could feel something was different and it frightened her to not know what could have made this change. She was unaware that just that moment of eye contact on a night meant for sleep would change her life forever.

just an idea I'm kinda trying to run with, tell me what you think and I might run farther with it.

Right, I posted a long comment, and it went *POOOFFFF* So I'll try to do it again..

I'm intrigued, I want to know, does she peek again? Does she get dressed and go down to see if he is real? Or does she wait until the morning, will he appear in her room?
Or is he a vampire?? What was it that woke her? What's changed, connecting with his eyes - did that do it??

I think you should write more, it's got me drawn in.

xx
