I was at work today, and I was talking to one of the clients who was wearing a back brace type of thing. This client comes in every two weeks, and I have never seen him wear it. Well, he told me he was walking upstairs in his home in 1995 and heard a crack, and after that his back hasn't been the same. Doing a perfectly normal activity, without lifting or falling. Incidentally, you only have one back, something that is not easily replaced. This client is not elderly, or in his 20's. It kind of puts things in perspective.
I am thankful to be young, to be able to work as hard as I do. To have had a child early in life, rather than recover in my 40's when my skin would not rebound as well as it does now.
I am thankful I was born in a country with an established government, with houses that have indoor plumbing, electricity, welfare, and birth control.
I am thankful to be a female
I am (finally) thankful for my red hair, green eyes and pale skin
I am thankful for my son
I am so thankful I am not married
I am thankful for dishwashers, washing machines, and vibrators. (things I will never do by hand)
I am thankful for having met all my grandparents, and that I still have one.
I am thankful my parents are alive and don't smoke.
I am thankful for the few friends I do have.
I am thankful for a car that works.
I am thankful for low cost child care.
I am thankful for all the help I get from my mother, without her I would be toast.
I am thankful to be employed
thats all for now |
