Not Worth The Drama What is left to say, its’ not worth the dramaI’ve felt the sting of its beautiful lies Lost my innocence to its glimmering claimsBut it only left me in a state and pain I prayed for an escape from its gripBut in truth I was the one to blameNo-one could ever come and free meI learned the hard way, that freedom was my own I lost my way, and I cried inside, but smiled outsideI never wanted to admit that I was ashamed and afraidI never thought of anyone else, it was all about my own painI could not trust myself, let alone anyone else But from within this darkness I saw a glimpse of loveNot from a preacher, a father, family or even from GodI found it here inside, my spirit was fighting to be seenI brought myself across that great divide and found I had nothing left to hide With nothing to lose and everything to gainI laid my burdens before the power I did not knowGiving myself into total surrender in blind hope and faithPraying that I’d find within a person better than the one I now see I think the world, should know that even though it seems to get colderThere are times and memories, when my innocence is what I missMy choices have taken, destroyed, but I’m on a new roadHoping that one day I’ll find way into the Promised Land What is left to say, its’ not worth the dramaI’ve felt the sting of its beautiful lies Lost my innocence to its glimmering claimsBut it only left me in a state and pain Date: Tuesday, October 2, 2007
