| She just stood there until I woke up.

It was a cold and snowy day in 1993. My 4th grade class was doing magazine sales, where you go door to door and ask people to sign up for a subscription and you can win stuff.
My friend Megan and I were going through our neighborhood and trying to get "suckers" to sign up. I was wearing my favorite pink snow boots and pick snowsuit. You know the ones that is the whole body. It was neon pink with neon green triangles, I think.
So we are out most of the day, and one of the last houses we go to has a really steep driveway. I remember walking up and then I don't remember anything. I opened my eyes and Megan is just standing there looking around. She says, "are you awake?" and then the pain hit me.
I started screaming and ran back to my house. Megan following behind, not as fast I am sure.
I walked inside and my mom screams "Oh my God, what happened to you?" and I am crying so hard telling her I don't remember. She put some ice on it and cleaned up some of the blood.
Then little Megan pipes up. She says we were walking up the driveway, and I slipped and hit cheek first on the ground. She said I just layed there and she asked if I was okay but I didn't respond. She said she just stood over me for about 5 minutes until I finally woke up. My mom was like why didn't you come get me, or run up to the house and say you needed help. She just says something like "oh, I don't know".
This was Megan. This still is Megan. So, I have to go to school with half of my face swollen and red and scrapes all over it. I had to go to the dentist to see if I messed up my teeth/jaw any because it looked so funky when it was swollen. It lasted a good month that stupid bruise.
I can still picture her standing over me when I came to. Would you just stand there, I mean we were only 10, but come on? 5 minutes and your friend isn't responding?
I have some good stories about her, because after this event we weren't really friends, but our sophomore year in college our parents got an apartement for us, since they were still friends and we happen to go to the same school. It was an experience. You see, she thinks that she is God's gift to the earth, and she would say things to me about how I didn't have talents like she did because I wasn't as close to God. Please.
