| Waving and smiling weakly from my corner

Sorry I haven't written anything in a while. Seems like I just don't have as much of the desire to write in my off-time as I used to have. Plus, there's just been such a blizzard of small problems and obstacles rising up in front of me, to the sides, and even dropping down from above. I've always been of the opinion that numerous small problems are much better than one large problem. I still believe that, but that belief has gotten a real workout this past couple of weeks.
It just seems like I spend a large portion of my time trudging to work, doing work (which I really am doing and not napping in my chair!), and speeding back home, only to sack out for a nap long enough to get up later in the evening and play some Grand Theft Auto. (Once you get 100% completion, your ammo never runs out. It's great fun to use the mini-gun and just mow down row after row of stupid cops.) After a few hours of this, it's off to bed, and begin again.
The only real variation from this has been this past week. I got off work on Friday afternoon and headed home, not to return again until Sunday morning at 10 a.m. I collapsed into bed with a fairly substantial stopped-up sinuses, but nothing really major. I slept all the rest of the day, and all of the following day. I got up a couple of times to take a dump and one valiant effort to watch some TV, but I only lasted about an hour and a half, before I had to give up and retreat back into bed. It's a weird sensation to be too cold under just the bed covers, and too hot under the same covers plus one blanket. It got so ridiculous that I had to put on a shirt for sleeping in. I normally only sleep with a pair of shorts on and nothing else.
Yes, even during winter.
Calm down, ladies. If you ask nicely, I may give you a demonstration.
So, I spent all day Sunday just trying to survive long enough to get home. Ditto for Monday and Tuesday, although Tuesday was more better than the other days. Hopefully, today will be a better day.
If you believe in the positive reinforcement movement (the human potential movement), then I guess the correct way to say that would be, "Today will be a better day!"
Oh, well. Have a better day yourself. I'll try to get back to politics in the next day or two, and maybe something about Seneca and his Meditations before that, but those are entries for another day. |
