So, Where Have I Been Lately?
The short answer to that is: doing something else for a while.

The long answer involves a bit of background. In the past, I was able to surf the Net at work, but didn't really have any continuous time to do any "live" blogging. On the other hand, I wasn't able to surf at home, but I had plenty of time to read, think, and start writing (and editing too - shhh! No need to spread that around.) while sitting at home.

Well, things change. Now, I can't surf the Net at work, but I can at home. And because of that new-found freedom, I'm not really sitting down and writing when I should. For instance, since my old laptop took a nosedive, I've been trying to find all the bookmarked websites that I used to read that got erased when my bookmarks disappeared. I've also been trying to get all the music back on my iTunes. Since I've got in excess of 320 CD's in the rock category alone, and probably another 200-250 in other categories, it is slow going. I'm up to the R's right now, and hope to finish up the rock category by the end of this week.

Gracenote has been a real help, because all I have to do is make sure I'm hooked up to the Net, start up iTunes, and start putting in CDs. Gracenote does all the rest. It has an annoying habit of putting peoples name in the regular order instead of putting the last name first so that it can be alphabetized. For instance, it will put (to pick an example everybody will have heard of) Bruce Springsteen as "Bruce Springsteen", instead of putting it "Springsteen, Bruce", so that The Boss will be put in with the "S"'s and not the "B"'s.

So, to sum up my ramblings in a very short sentence: updating my new laptop and internet settings, exploring the web, and trying to find as many of my old reading sites as I can find.

If you are still awake by the time you get to this paragraph, give yourself a treat. I know I don't live a very exciting life, and writing all of that put me to sleep a couple of times. If my life is so boring as to put me to sleep giving you the short version, then I can't even imagine what it's done to you.

So, what are my future plans? Well, like I said, I'm going to try to finish off the rock category by the end of this week, and then get started in the compilations category, followed by the comedy stuff. I won't do as much writing from now until the end of May, I think. Got a nephew graduating from high school around Memorial Day, and my parents and I are going to have to drive up to Ohio to attend it. My father is also going in to get a new defibullator (too late in the evening to look up that spelling) on Wednesday of next week, and he is supposed to be resting at home for six weeks after that. I'll try to do some writing when I can, but I think I'm going to have my hands full until June.

Glad you're back, KK. I thought something bad had happened at the tobacco store (like gun fire over some $10 charity donation you made) or maybe you and the dancer flew to Vegas and got married.
It's nice to know everything is back to normal.
