Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again
I'm really looking forward to the next 10 or so days.

(That's sarcasm, by the way.)

I'll be traveling from Arkansas to Ohio Thursday and Friday, then attending my nephew's high school graduation on Saturday, visiting with the assorted relatives on Sunday, and traveling back here on Monday and Tuesday. Upon getting back to work on Wednesday, we're scheduled to have inventory in addition to having our weekly delivery, which means working all day open to close. Then, working all day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to make up for the hours I wasn't here at the beginning of the week, before going back to the regular schedule of working all day on Sunday.

Don't get me wrong, seeing my nephews and other assorted relatives will be pretty cool. They've grown up to be fine, upstanding boys. The two oldest ones were both taller than me when I last saw them 2 summers ago, and I'm 6"1', not exactly short. And from what I've heard, the youngest is going to be even taller than the other two. Isn't it weird how genetics just screws around?

I mean, they sure didn't get it from my brother. Seeing as how I've got about 3 or 4 inches over him, he's fond of introducing me as his little brother. And their mother's family isn't a very tall family, either. Her brothers (their "other" uncles) are both pretty skinny, but I'm still taller than them. So, where did their height come from, if it came from genetics?

(I don't think there was ever a milk delivery route.)

Environment, perhaps? Maybe there is some sort of correlation between added stature and a father-less household. There does seem to be quite a few NBA players who come from broken homes. That could be coincidence, or a predisposition, or some other reason, though. Wouldn't that be an interesting subject to have in the halls of higher education? Does a lack of a paternal figure influence physical stature? Hmm.

Anyway, the most wearing part of this is going to be traveling by car for two days going there and two days coming back. I don't know why, but when I'm just the passenger in a car, I get very very sleepy. And I'm going to be a passenger in this little voyage. So, guess what that means? (Man, I'm starting to yawn just thinking about it.) I'm going to take along a few books and stuff in an effort to keep myself awake and alert, but I'm sure I'm going to drop off quite a bit.

I noticed, the last time I put a post up, that another post of mine either disappeared or was never posted in the first place. I'm not real sure, but I think I may have tried to have that one auto-post at a predetermined time. In a way, I'm glad that that one disappeared. I was expressing my anxiety over my father going in to have his defibrillator leads replaced, and I got pretty depressing at the end of it. I don't think I'll repost it, because it just got so darned depressing and glum that it made me depressed just re-reading it. That, and it was just wasted effort, since the cause of my anxiety turned out to be unfounded.

Anyway, I'm going to take my old laptop with me (maybe I'll explain why I'm taking the old one and not the new one soon), so I might do some posting. Wouldn't count on it, though. I don't think I'll be able to post again until at least the 30th or 31st.

But the good news is, that should be the last big interruption until September, I think.
