I didn't look up this band at all. I don't even feel like doing it. I'm not mentally retarded, but I do have issues. Lots and lots of issues.
Anyway, I thought I'd leave some brain droppings here so I could return the favor, and also because the corner in my cage is full right now, and I don't have a shovel.
Although I do have a handy little trowel, though.

Hey Mumsi! Thanks for the interesting questions! Let me answer your last question first.
I think you are exactly right when you say that anyone who doesn't display emotion and/or passion on a regular basis is someone who we (at the very least) look askance at, and usually wonder about such peoples' state of mind and feel the need to "keep a watchful eye on" such people.
Your second question is a bit tougher to answer shortly. I don't know how Seneca would answer it. However, I would have to say that stoicism is to purge all of the extraneous thoughts and feelings that a person may have in order to live a more simple, ordered life. Is that the purging of all that is what makes us human? I would say not. I would say that stoicism throws all of the distractions that are in our lives out of the way, allowing us to experience all of the human emotions better, although we must be careful to not display them for the whole world to see. Because if we allow the world to see what we are feeling, that is now a distraction from our pursuit of a simpler life.
That is just my uninformed opinion, though. (posted in

I have sleep apnea, and what you describe is right on. I had a sleep study done, and now I have to sleep with a machine. The first time, it felt like I was drowning in air. It took some getting used to, but I sure am glad I got it done. The biggest scare for me was when I fell asleep driving home one day in broad daylight. Don't delay, I guarantee you you will feel better than you have in a long time. (posted in
