What a great weekend I've had!
Taking care of Duncan has been such fun. He is lively and slightly crazy!Keesha, being as old as she is, didn't appreciate his spontanaity. I have to give her credit, she only snapped at him once and it was because he stepped on her. She didn't like that too much. Right now, she is sound asleep because he wore her out.
I went to Dinner with a new friends G and his best friend R. We met at 8pm and basically closed the restaurant. Great food too! It was fun to laugh and talk with them. G has two of the prettiest German Shepards. And it was fun to meet them too. Molly is really talkitive and Gretta is what G called, "a window hog". *smile*
G took out some treats he had purchased at Costco and he said they were like "crack" for doggies. I think he's right, Keesha went nuts over them and she was really attentive to R everytime she reached into the bag. Keesha had definitely made some new best friends.
When we got back to Duncan, he couldn't stop smelling Keesha's mouth. I had to write G and let him know he had created two addicts... poor Duncan had not even tasted the "doggie crack" but he already liked them. Keesha had to hide in a corner with her back to the puppy to just get away from him. G told me I could blame him for making Duncan an addict, only if she didn't have a bag temper of carried a gun! *LOL* He's safe, she is neither...
I spent Saturday with my friend J. It was a great day and we did a lot of laughing and talking. Even took a nap together. He works from O'Dark Thirty until mid morning. He was tired from work and working out at the gym. Poor guy. Towards mid afternoon, we started getting hungry and headed to Denny's. Where I got to hear stories of international travel and what exciting things happen in othere countries. It was great!
Unfortunately by the time I got home (D's home) I was so sick. Another fun part of cancer... never can tell what's going to stay with me and what won't. It changes everyday... one day I can eat a hot dog and the next, I can't. It's annoying to say the least. But it's just something to deal with, just one of my speed bumps to get over.
Today, has been a quiet day. I've watched a few movies on demand and napped a bit. What can I say, napping is always good. It's better when its with someone... but being single leaves only rare opportunities to cuddle up to a friend.
I'm going to finish out my day writing some letters... snail mail is still fun for me. Maybe watch a movie and then some tv. Maybe somethign off the "not approved" list? Who knows, whatever I do, it will be my choice and that in itself is... wonderful.
Celebrate Life,
Kai
