 Who's eyes are watching you
All right after my gallant effort with all those questions I am about to do a complete about face and have the biggest rant, well at the moment anyway.  And you can all have fun filling in the blanks.

Who was the idiot who invented the camera to go into mobile phones? Because right now, I would like to wring his bloody neck, Ohhh and thank the genius for allowing DH, AH, PEV’s to have a field day.

This afternoon I had to go down the street and drop in my annual monthly papers at Centrelink, for those who need a translation it is equivalent to welfare. But they also deal with family tax, it is all really too complicated to explain so I am not about to start.  These papers are more headaches then what they are worth. But it is better than being audited at tax time. So I had to go down there this afternoon. I had tried to go in the morning but couldn’t get parking so I thought I would go back in the afternoon, (as if that is any better). Now the office that I usually go to is closed down at the moment for renovations, so I have to go to one that yes it is closer, but not in my comfort zone. And after today I will never set foot in that place again and as much said so.

So while standing in a 20 person deep line, thinking I am never going to get out of here, minding my own business. When all of a sudden to the left of me, where you sit in the waiting area if you are there for an appointment and not to hand in forms, a women starts going off at a man (and that is being nice calling him a man).Yelling at him who does he think he is and what he is doing is illegal, and that we are going to call the police. So I am thinking right this woman has lost the plot. And try to ignore what is going on, just wishing for the line to move a little quicker. When said (now that I know hasn’t lost the plot) women comes up to me and tells me that the (please I am paraphrasing here but you can all fill in the blanks). AH of a _______ is taking photos of you. The _________ _______ they come here in to our country and think that they can get away with anything.

Now yes I did see this person on his phone, and to me it looked like he was either texting or playing a game on his phone. I did not know that he was taking photos of me. This of course makes me more uneasy in the place so I go and report it. Well as any one in Australia knows when it comes to Centrelink trying to find someone to help you is near on impossible. So basically I break into the front of a queue and tell them that a man in the waiting area is taking photos of me with his phone. She then of course has to go and get someone higher up then her. (Hello idiots press your emergency button, you know the one that is under the desk). So she goes and gets someone. In the meantime I am think hell I want to get out of this place, and of course became agitated. So the team manager takes me away to the side we talk the women who saw all this is called over and in the mean time, the man has left and apparently deleted the photos (that is according to the women).

So she takes my form deals with me then walks me out to my car and hoping we may see the person and that was it.

Well HELL no that is not it. This is bugging me. I am not about to let this guy get away with it. If he did this to me then who else has he done it too? At first I was going to drop it and that be the end of it. But no on the way home I detour past the police station make a report and am now waiting to hear back from someone. Centrelink were going to check their CT tapes. But I have a feeling that this is may not go far. The police are going to talk to Centrelink and see if they find anything, everyone has my details, Centrelink have the woman who witnessed it details. And the police have my details too.  I know that this is probably a long shot. But I do hope that they catch him.

Wow how violated do I feel right now. Had the woman not said anything in the first place I would have been none the wiser.

Oh and talk about joking at the wrong time. When I was at the police station giving my report, I said to the (might I add cute, man in uniform), that I could think of better looking women to take photos of instead of me. But now I take that back no one has the right to take someone’s photo unless that person has consented to it.

Now I know that some people like having a camera in their phone. But why when they are abused like this, are they allowed. I am a grown woman, but what about all the innocent children. Who is their voice?

Maybe it is time that we reconsider where technology is going and take out the camera in a mobile phone, and let people has some morsal of confidence that they are not about to end up on the internet.  Like I fear I will be now.

Thats not right KP. I for one dont have a camera in my phone, they are a waste of space, and hardly worth it for the crappy photo's.

I hope something comes out of this, at least now they have banned them in Swimming centres and change rooms.

I would feel freaked out as well and even if nothing comes from it, it is a good thing you filed the report. At least people at the Centrelink are now aware. *hugs*
