| What I have been told about my birth, |
Some basic information about me, I am an only child.
Apparently there was another child but mum miscarried. It wasn't until mum was dying that I found out about it 30 years later.
The day that I was born dad dropped mum off at the hospital on his way to go fishing. His only interest in the arrival of his first born was that he didn’t like the name mum had chosen, which he announced as he dropped her off at the front doors of the hospital.
When the mum finally tracked down dad to tell him I had been born there apparently was no comment made and he said he would see her when she got home. Few days later, it was time for us to go home, mum couldn’t find dad and so out of desperation mum had to ring my grandmother (her mother) to come and pick us up.
On arrival to my new home, sitting on the front step was my other grandmother (dads mum). Well from the very beginning mum and my grandmother never got on, (a cultural deference). So there was my grandmother to look after her son, while mum was to look after me. Well apparently it was the worse time mum had. Everything she did my grandmother criticized. After a few months mum finally told my grandmother to leave, which she didn’t so one day when dad and my grandmother were out she packed me up and moved out.
Dad was mad as hell. Mum told dad that it was either her and me or his mother. I guess we won because apparently we moved back and she went.
However not everything was alright at home, dad wouldn’t have anything to do with me, which I was later told on a regular basis that it was because I wasn’t a boy. (Ohhh which reminds me Dad was Greek). So after 6 months of being called "the baby" or "it" mum had had enough so one day she trapped dad into staying home and she went out, which meant he had to look after me. Well it didn’t fix everything but it did help a bit. At least now he would call me by my name and at least hold me.
That’s all for now
