So the school holidays are winding down. And I am looking forward to the kids going back. Funny how when they are younger we dread the fact that they will be going to school, but once their there we can’t wait for the school holidays to be over and they are back at school.
Which of course also means my school own school holidays are now over too. And not once in the whole time did I pick up the books and do any assignments. So guess who has been doing her assignments at the last minute, hmmm not a good example to set.
So if anyone was to ask what have I done these holidays, I couldn’t possible tell you. I know out of the 14 days of school holidays I have been home approximately 5 days. Which means I have been out and about for 9, but doing what? All I know is that the purse is a lot lighter for it. Lol the things we do. Well if only I can remember what they were. I do know that I will have to really think about it, come Monday morning I do know that my son will be asking so that he can tell everyone at school.
With school going back I now have to dust off the summer uniform, find the school hats and restock, pencils, pens, tissues and what nots so that the kids have everything they need for the last term of school for the year.
Which now brings me to my other dilemma, what to do about school for the kids, as it is I have to drive the kids 35 mins to school, passing three other schools to get them to the one they are in. I think that we have been very spoilt with the school that they are in, because of all the schools we pass and that I have had a tour in, I always find something wrong with it.
For instance the school that the kids are in has lots of wide open spaces, lots of grass area, trees and such and not much traffic (as long as you don’t include drop off and pick up times) Ohhh and I must not forget the fresh clean air. Some would say sort of country.
However the schools in the area we live in are what I call concrete jungles. No grass areas, fences, close to traffic and smog.
The only reason why I am thinking about moving them is the price of petrol (gas for some), and the fact that if I am having a bad day there is no one in the area to take them. If I move them to a closer school my weekly petrol bill would be halved, and if I am having a bad day they are able to walk or ride to school. But so far nothing has grabbed me to say this is the school. I have three weeks to make up my mind. And I just don’t know if I am doing the right thing or not.
So for all you thoughtsters out there please I need advice.
