Things we do for our friends
My long weekend so far, has been a bit on the boring side. Nothing great to talk about, a bit of house work, and lots of studying, so as you can see nothing to brag about.

However there is a slight difference to this weekend than the normal, we are entertaining for the next 14 days. And as Whiteknight can attest to this, this one has me grinning and bearing a fair bit. You see we are dog sitting. Nothing to demanding, however these two dogs are house dogs, and I detest dogs being in the house. But my girlfriend has going overseas for her honeymoon and so we have the dogs.

But here is the most ironic part of the story, one of the dogs used to be our dog in the first place. Well not so much ours but my mums. At the time we tried to keep the dog ourselves but we didn’t have the time for the dog, and as it turned out my friend had just had to put down her dog due to it being hit by a car and was looking for a new dog. My mum loved this friend of mine and often introduced to her family and friends as her long lost daughter, so all is good, and I know that mum wouldn’t have minded.

So for now I have to put up with the dog beds, the dog toys, the dog bowls and water bowls, the dog hair and leaving the back door open for them to come and go as they please. And I know that by the end of the 14 days I will gladly hand back the dogs with out any fear of becoming attached to them

Fergus looks like the instigator ...... LOL

When I was a child, people had these unique things called "Dog Houses" where dogs actually eat and slept; pretty cool huh? [overwhelming sarcasm]

I have noticed that people nowadays are more likely to keep pets inside all the time; and I really don't know why. It is not particularly healthy. We would bring the dogs and the cat indoors when it was really cold outside at night, but other than that, they stayed outside. A dog with a thick coat is probably more comfortable outside most of the time anyway; I know I would be if I was wearing a fur coat!

With all the fur everywhere and the "land mines" in the yard, ya still can't help but love'm!

My dogs have a doggy door. They come and go when they like. They are house dogs. They are very important parts of our family. Yes there is dog hair to contend with.
I think it cruel to tie a dog to a "dog house". Why even own one? I've seen dogs tied to a dog house and I've never seen them get much attention at all. It's sad.
Many many cases of dogs saving lives. I bet none of that has ever happened from a pet tied to a dog house.

I'm not bashing you. Everyone has an opinion. I'm not saying you've got a dog tied to a dog house, and if you do well that's your business. I'm just stating my opinion.

Here in America in order to "adopt" a pet from a shelter it is on the application if you'll have the dog be indoors or outdoors. I checked the box that said both. What I was meaning was the dog would be allowed to spend time outside if it liked. They told be because I would keep a dog outside that disqualified me!?!
