Sharing Christmas
I was sent this and I know that some others on here were too. But I enjoyed this so I thought why not share it. Pass it around and see what happens. I hope you don't mind Doug.
So here goes.
Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here’s what you're supposed to do, and try not to be a SCROOGE!!! ............................. (there was other stuff in there but you know what to do if you want to)
Tis the Season to be NICE!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Depending on the gift and who it is too.
2. Real tree or Artificial? We have always had real trees,
However when my mum was alive they would be dead trees
She would say it deserved one more last moment of glory before it is gone
She would spray paint them gold or silver and decorate them
3. When do you put up the tree? After the 14th Dec,
So that my daughter can enjoy her birthday with out it being out shadowed by christmas
4. When do you take the tree down? On the 6th Jan.
That is the tradition last day of the 12 days of christmas
5. Do you like eggnog? Have never had it, each year I say I am going to make some but never do.
It isn't big here in Australia
6. Favourite gift received as a child? I would have to say anything to do with music
But as an Adult I would say the whole day Spa treatment I got one year. Massages, facials, manicures and pedicures and the such.
7. Hardest person to buy for? Some of my family
8. Easiest person to buy for? Everyone else
9. Do you have a nativity scene? No, but I am going to start one up.
I have found one I really like
But I am going to have to buy a new piece each year
10 Mail or email Christmas cards? Mainly mail out, however I have sent ecards when I don't have physical address and only emails
11 Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I was 13 and it was a rubber duck and soap.
From a family member I guess they really knew me
12 Favorite Christmas Movie? I love either version of Miracle on 34th Street,
All the Santa Clause movies,
Polar express.
Okay any christmas movie. However they don't play them much on Free to air TV.
13 When do you start shopping for Christmas? Through out the year.
Trouble is I have to remember where I hide them
14 Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, but have confused presents.
Once I gave a toddler a teenage present and gave the teenager the toddler present
Ohh wait yes I have. One year I got three of the same thing, so the following year I re wrapped them and took them to a charity tree/wishing tree.
15 Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? We have a seafood christmas so I guess seafood.
16 Lights on the tree? I like the small white ones.
I rather not have the flashing ones as they give me a headache
17 Favorite Christmas song? Santa Baby the Kylie Minogue version (hopefully it is playing now for you)
18 Travel at Christmas or stay home? As my families christmas celebrations start on the 23rd and go till the 26th
the only travelling we do is to get to the peoples place
One year I would like to do the white christmas, so maybe travel then
19 Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? (in the email they were all listed)
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixon, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph Okay since they are there yes.
However I will admit if they weren't there no just like I don't know the Seven Dwarfs'
20 An angel or a star on the tree top? An Angel it was my grandmothers.
It was the only thing that I could save without been taken by the rest of the family.
21 Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning mostly
22 Most annoying thing about this time of the year? That every year "Christmas " is starting earlier and earlier.
The ads on the TV, Santa in the shopping centres, the christmas decorations going up all over the place, and the first arrival of Christmas Cards for me (yesturday meaning tuesday and it was not one from OS)
23 Favorite ornament theme or colour? Anything bright and cheerful.
I found a website that has glass ornaments that my grandmother use to have, they are made in germany, so each year I order a new on to add to the collection
24 Favorite for Christmas dinner? We have a big Christmas lunch and then graze for dinner or if we can get up off the couch
25 What do you want for Christmas this year? Love, and what ever anyone wants to give me.
Though when it comes to my husband to buy for me I give him a whole lot of pictures from junk mail and tell him to choose 3, One from him and one each from the kids. If I left it to him it would be three DVD's
