This may be a bit of a mundane post for some, but for me it is just some rabbling thoughts to clear the head.
Wow what a day. It is the first time in a long time I have felt like I have achieved a lot today.
I started the morning off having trouble getting out of bed because of a headache. Some may say that was due to the fact I got drunk last night (celebrating my mothers birthday). Or due to the lack of sleep I have been getting lately and it has finally caught up with me. However for those that knows me, knows that I have NEVER had a hangover so I am thinking it was more of the later, with just a pinch of hangover.
So I struggled out of bed, go down and get the kids their breakfast and throw some coffee down my throat and think about the mental list I have going on in my head about what I wanted to do. But like all good list I strayed a little with the chores.
I did however manage to get this done instead:
• 3 more boxes of unpacking. (Only a million more to go). Out of the 3 boxes, I managed to cull 1 box for rubbish, ½ a box to charity and ½ to sell online, and if my calculations are correct then 1 box I am keeping, about ¼ of that box I can store in the house the rest had to go back into one of those big plastic tubs and for now into the laundry till I fill it, then out to the garage.
• Even though I had already packed up the Christmas decorations, while shopping the other day I found a container that had individual slots for the decorations, and I think it must have been my OCD in action again, but I ended up buying a couple of them. Each container holds 54 decorations, and I filled both with more left over. I had to laugh to myself because while I was at the shop I umm and ahh’d about buying the two. I wonder if I go back there tomorrow if they will have any more. I think I will need more. What I did notice however they did have an assortment of different boxes for Christmas storage, for the tree, the wreath, a special box for the Christmas cards and wrapping paper. I could have had a field day. As I like all my things in a nice order with their own box/containers for everything. And how do I know they were for christmas only well the red and green colouring was a giver way as well as the stenciled labels on them that say christmas tree, christams decorations and so on. Other wise I am sure I could have used them for something else as well.
• I had a break for a bit when I had visitors drop in out of the blue. So I sat down and caught up with them. But the only thing I wished was that they had rung first. I was a little down on myself as I had nothing to offer them to have with their coffee. I didn’t even have a packet of biscuits (cookies, not a tim tam in site) in the cupboard. And I hate not being able to offer anything. I think they got sick of me apologizing every five minutes.
• I have just finished cleaning up the back yard. The kids bikes and scooters and stuff all put back in there place. All inside toys that had been taken outside back inside. All rubbish that had been left on the ground picked up and binned. The paving blown with the blower. The old couches put out on the curb for pick up. The BBQ moved to a new spot and the outside table moved. All that is left to do is the grass mowed. But the mower decided not to work, (Not that that is my job).
All in all a good productive day, I just wish that all days were like this. Now to work on the mental note for tomorrow, maybe some baking just in case of any more unexpected visitors.
