Ahhhh School Holidays
It is funny normally I don’t look forward to the school holidays, not because I don’t want to be with my kids, but more to the fact that they want constant entertainment. It is only Sunday here and I feel like the biggest tyrant out. I have had to say ‘No’ so many times, that I am starting to think that is the only word I know.
Let’s see, I have been asked to go to the movies, swimming, rollerblading, bike riding, away on a holiday, to a friend’s house, to the show (Royal Melbourne that is), ten pin bowling, plaster house, and the list goes on and on. Mind you we did go out Saturday. They had Karate in the morning and then out for lunch, the place we went to have a play ground for children so they got to play and make friends with other kids. But it just never seems enough.
But it also doesn’t help when hubby is injured and can’t do much. He is wobbling around like a duck due to something wrong with his knee. (But that is a whole different story in its own).
Okay so back to the point of this blog and the first sentence, as I said normally I don’t look forward to school holidays, but this term I am, mainly because I have put so much pressure on myself with school. I need to learn to relax a little, its not like I don’t know what I am doing in the class.
This brings me to another point that is playing on my mind. The school paid me to do some desktop publishing for them. A First Aid workbook for a new class that was about to start, and the work books they were going to use never arrived, so they put one together and had it certified. (I know how strange it is to go to school and then get payed to do something). The deadline they gave me was a slim one and I managed to do it in their time. I also knew the teacher that was taking the class and emailed her the final copy so that if she saw any changes that it could be done in time. I also mentioned to her that when the class started she may have some other changes of areas that have slipped her mind. And to let me know and I will make them for her.
Anyway she spoke to me on our last class and told me that other changes had been done and they got someone else to do them. Now here I feel like that my project (my baby so to speak) has been violated by someone else. They payed me to do this job for them and I wanted to see it done from start to finish. I did put my point of view in a pleasant way to the teacher and hopefully in the future if they get someone to do this again they will take this into consideration. But now I am starting to wonder have I blown this all out of proportion
