I lay awake at night,
Listening to you breath.
I smile knowing you are near.
You seem so peaceful in your slumber,

To feel your strength,
You seem so far even though you are near,
I want to bridge that distance
To let you know that I am here.
Do I dare wake you?
And cry on your shoulder.

Would it be fair?
I look over at you
And smile knowing that tonight you are here
I thank the heavens above for bringing you to me
I move in close and let our bodies touch
