Well in my house at least. Today I finally got motivated to organize the Christmas tree, so down the street we went to buy one. Have to kick myself as I left our live one (potted) at the old house. We would tend to it and trim it to the size we wanted to keep it at, each year. We had had it for good five or six years, and I only just realized that it got left at the old house on our latest move. So I guess we will have to start it all over again. I did contemplated getting a fake one, but didn’t like any at the shops, might have to go to the Christmas factory if I get a chance and see what they have. So for now it is a real one that has been cut down. (Sorry Mother Nature).
So after pulling out the lights and going through each globe to get the one that isn’t working fixed. Have you ever notice how each year you put on light and they all work, then you carefully put them away in there own box that is padded for the next year only to discover that half of them don’t work. I am sure that has something to do with Murphy’s Law. Finally getting them to work, we then put them on the tree and then of course the decorations. I must say the tree doesn’t look half bad. Just don’t go taking a closer look at the back as there aren’t any decorations there. (Don’t have enough or the tree is bigger who knows). Or once again Murphy’s Law comes into play and some are broken. And as you can see the kids had fun decorating the tree. Hence all the decorations all clumped together.
Tonight on free to air TV “Santa Clause 2” was on. So with some inspiration from Doug, I popped the popcorn got needle and thread out and set the kids up with threading popcorn. It is the first time we tried that. And I again must say I love the effect it gave the tree, and it kept the kids quiet while we watched the movie. So thank you Doug.
There are lights on there coloured and white flashy ones, but the camera flash lost them.
I went out today and brought extra flour and salt. Paint and glitter and paint brushes, and on Tuesday we are going to give the salt dough ornaments a go. I walk a little more tepidly with this one. I will let you know Doug how it all goes.
So that is all for now, I do have a great surreal post to write about something that happened to me yesterday. I am still reeling with shock over it. So keep a look out for it in the next couple of days.
Merry Christmas to all.
