I think I may have mentioned very briefly that hubby had injured himself at work. His knees to be more precise; so for the last 4 weeks he has been off work. This week his HR department decided that he needed to return to work on light duties.
Now I get that, I understand that eventually he will return to work, however wouldn’t it be better to wait till once we had seen the specialist which was on Wednesday. So we drove in to the city (not something I do often), and saw the specialist. And as it turns out he has to have an operation on his knees, well both of them eventually, however one at a time as the rehab will be to much, and too hard with young kids. We have been told that there will be a possibly a 2 to 3 week wait before then and to rest up as much as possible, and not to go to work. So today the HR department ring and say that they are not happy with what the specialist has said and they are thinking they may want to get a second opinion.
Okay I get that as you are paying for the bill, which in turn your insurance is too. But you told us to go to this specialist this was not one that we just looked up in the phone book and said ohhh yeah this one looks good, his advertisement is pretty. But in turn this means longer time before he can have surgery, which in the long run is not good for you as it means it takes him longer to get back to his full duties when given the all clear.
So lets look at this rationale, it took us 4 weeks to get to see your specialist, and now you want another to look at him, so that is most likely going to be another 4 weeks. Then if he gives the same prognosis as the first one and he still has to have surgery another 2-3 week wait for surgery, and even then that is not guaranteed as lately some surgeries keep getting postponed. So we could be looking at another 10 weeks and then there is the recovery time. Boy you can see they are really looking at this the right way. Ohhh the bureaucrats.
And truth be known not good for me as I have to have him home longer
