I laughed so much I cried
This weekend has been a good weekend for me.

Now don’t get me wrong I love my kids and can not imagine my life without them. However every now and then peace is something I yearn for. Well those yearnings come to heed this weekend. With some careful planning hubby and I have had a weekend off from being parents. We got to spend Friday night Saturday and it looks like most of today with out kids. Who said you need a fancy hotel room to have a weekend away. Okay well we didn’t have the spa bath that fits two or room service, or someone to turn down the bed at night or even make the bed in the morning, but what we had worked for us.

Why is this big deal? Well my children don’t have grandparents to go spend time with. There is only me and my husband; I don’t have any brothers or sisters, my husband does have however we are not close to them. And not many school friends (kids school friends that is), will take the both of them together for a whole weekend. But we are lucky we have a very good friend, who is very special to us who takes them every four months or so for a weekend.

The Kids were ready 6 30 am on Friday morning to go spend the weekend with “L” , and instead of getting “are we there yet are we there yet” I got “is it time yet, is it time yet”. On rolls Friday night and “L” comes to pick up the kids. Before she had time to even come through the door the kids were out our door and bye mum and dad see you with out a second thought. Pretty much had to drag them in so “L” could have a cuppa and talk before heading home (She had come straight from work). With drinks drank, and kids impatiently waiting to go, they go home with “L”.

Okay so before we go on sorry if this is TMI.

Yes it ended up being one of “THOSE” weekends. We slept in, we lounged around, we went out for dinner, and I got pampered with massages and some TLC. I got to have a complete hot shower with out the kids calling out or turning on the tap or just plain old being kids. No yelling or crying no I am hungry every five minutes.

So seeing how the kids were gone we sort of went off the usual weekend chores. So hubby decided that he would let me enjoy my peace a little more and go do some shopping before they got back.

This is where the Title comes in to play.

Did you know that there is a new accessory needed to go shopping? Nope neither did I.

So I am reading a book and sipping on a wine when the phone rings, it is hubby.

“Ummm, hi it is me, well I just wanted to ring and tell you that if you are looking for the remote for the TV it is in my pocket”.

I start to laugh to which I try and reply between laughing oh is that your new wallet or did you think that you could change all the lights to green with the remote. What is the TV in your pocket too?

So yes I am still laughing and yes I cried from laughing so much. Just has added to the great weekend we have had.

Oh that is funny. What a fantastic week-end you must be having. And on the remote front, could you imagine the bedlam you'd cause if you'd left with the remote in your pocket?! Lol.

That is funny.

That's so funny! Why the heck did he put the remote in his pocket though? Glad you enjoyed your peaceful weekend.
