Just another rant.
Our main telephone provider is also one of the companies that supply cable TV. Now as I can not stomach the idea of paying for a Television service, we do not have it.
The other day, the telephone company rang me, now at the time it was not convenient for me and I asked them if this was going to take to long as I was about to go out. No ma’am. Mistake number 1, I hate being called Ma’am, I am not some brothel owner. After telling them they could call me Ms P as I am not a brothel owner, I get a humble apology.
Then he goes off on his spiel.
I see you have used our company for a long time.
Well yes but I bet that doesn’t get me anything.
I also noticed that you have your land line, cell phones, and internet all with us.
Yes, but all I get is a measly 3% discount.
I see you don’t have our cable service would you like to add that.
Well no if I wanted it I would have had it by now.
I see you don’t have our DVD service,
No I don’t, I like the local video shop.
By now the call is getting on to 20 mins, so I interrupted this pleasant yet annoying BS and say
Okay enough with the BS what is the reason you are calling,
Well this is a courtesy call because you have been with this company now for many years, to tell you that on your land line the “Line Service Rental” is going up.
Wait for it ……………………………………………….
$1.
So all that time wasted, 25 mins in total for $1 increase and they wonder why we hate talking with them.
