The dictionary defines crush in many ways, but here's the one that pertains to me at the moment:
a. an intense but usually short-lived infatuation.
b. the object of such an infatuation
I don't think this is completely true. Why is it usually short lived?
Anyway . . . Here's my latest clue that I might be falling for Em. I now lock the texts she sends me. Not all of them. Just the ones that I don't want to accidentally delete when I empty my inbox. Usually, it's the flirty ones that I keep. Something about the cutest girl on the planet telling me that she wishes I was out with her makes me smile.
I want to know all there is to know about her. Everything from what music she likes to her favorite meals. I want to know how she'd spend an entire day by herself and what she considers the perfect date. I want to know it all. I think this is how I know that it's not just a crush. I don't just want to have sex with her. Well, I DO want to have sex with her but I also want to know what her favorite book is.
I love that she texts me when she's out and that she stays up IMing me until 5am. Then, I go to sleep, wake up at ten and a little while later I get a text saying good morning.
My dilemma? I don't know if she feels the same way about me. Sometimes, the stuff she says makes me think that she's got a crush on me, too. Other times, I think she's being uber flirtatious and it's harmless. Either way; if she's happy, then so am I. However it needs to be to keep her in my life . . . I'll do it.
