Once upon a time when time existed
I’ve just finished reading this book “The Time Paradox” and I must say, I was pleased to gain some new insights related to time. For quite some time I’ve had my own questions and theories associated with the concept of time and people have told me that I think too much. I sometimes wonder what’s worse, thinking too much or barely thinking at all. This book didn’t just open my mind to a different way of thinking about time but it brought a whole new series of questions and concerns to the forefront of my mind. I would like to share some of my thoughts with the masses and welcome any feedback and comments.

Life can seem pretty complex when the various wonders of the world start coming to the forefront of a persons mind and cause them to start asking why things are the way they are and what the significance is of the end result. What I believe is that when people engage on that never ending quests for truth, they come to find that the answers are actually simpler than they thought. However, the more complex a person makes a situation seem, others tend to perceive them as more intelligent or enlightened people. A lot of times though at the conclusion of the quest for knowledge the answer or solution is often simpler than people like to admit. I do believe that people make things more complicated than they really are and the simplicity of such complex systems could be more beneficial to us as a whole.

Personally I’m a lover of wisdom because I like to find out why people do the things they do. I don’t mean like a psychologist or psychiatrist but I like to learn these things so that I’m able to adapt to various circumstances and understand how to assimilate with diverse groups of people. From my travels I’ve learned quite a bit about people even though we all have our own uniqueness, I do believe the simplicity of our complex nature lies within individual desires and emotions. Our nature can be defined once we understand the power of our intentions. Some people desire to be perceived as intelligent, some desire to be humble and live a simple life, some desire to be remembered throughout the course of history, some desire to achieve power and dominance over people. The big question is why? Why do people desire the things they do? What is the purpose behind the intention?

Our individual personalities are created by millions of interactions with people, places and circumstances and we have a tendency to “watch and learn” from inception and until death. We see how things are done and we copy the actions and speech with our own little twist. So what is intelligence? I don’t believe a dictionary or person could clearly define such a word because if you stop and think about it you realize how similar words are to time. They are both matters of perception yet they are not actually “matter” at all. Talk about a paradox.

There are many people who are perceived as extremely smart in the field in which they are employed but they may also do some pretty asinine things. I think that we spend our entire lives coming into being and defining and redefining ourselves. I believe that time came into being because our minds perceived a need for it’s existence. Before we understood time, did it still exist? I honestly find it amazing that our minds can create ideas out of nothing and develop needs for such an idea to become manifest in the physical. Even if we cannot touch or see such an idea but just know that it became a reality is pretty amazing. Sometimes I feel like we are all children at heart and truly live in a land of “make believe.” I don’t believe people know as much as they think they do but they make others believe it to be so. I’ll even be the first to admit I’m ignorant to a lot of things but I do understand how to simplify the complex systems that were created around me.

Imagine life as one long lucid dream. Even though you believe you’re living your own dream, you’re still not alone in it. Your reality still must interact with other minds so it’s almost as if we travel throughout dreamland and enter alternate realities. For example, look at life in a rural farm community and then look at the lifestyle of people in the ghetto in urban environments. The people still have the same desires to eat and drink and enjoy life yet there’s almost an invisible barrier separating the two realities. Where did this barrier come from? The idea that a social class exists had to come from the mind as well. If there was no money, just food and drink, then who is poor and who is rich? There is no poor and rich. Again it’s all perception. It also comes down to the individual desires of each member within each community. But even that wall can be broken down if there was the major element of the division and I believe it is the ownership of land.

There are many nations and many cultures of people who have borders separating the people from uniting together as one. So how can we ever come to learn and understand the true concept of unity with so many barriers? Unity is also an idea born within the mind but many don’t know exactly why they are uniting. Sometimes it just feels better to unite and know you’re not alone. This is the simple answer. It wouldn’t be such a bad idea if people united in each nation to reclaim their land from the government and learned to tear down these invisible walls. This will not happen though until people change their desires. If they don’t then these invisible barriers will become like prison cells given enough time. It may take one massive superpower to dominate the entire planet before people think about all the time wasted on X-Box and Tivo. Then when that superpower moves on to other planets to conquer and divide, we may just be perceived as evil to those inhabitants. If there’s one thing humanity should be consider as a fault of our own, it should be for allowing this to continue for thousands of years if not more. How can we say we’re so advanced when we lack proper communication, compassion and understanding? Is it because we have electronic gadgets and play toys to occupy our minds? People are without homes and food and yet some people complain about how they are going to afford their cell phone payment or be able to go tanning. This is shameful.

I believe that just like we created the concept of time and language our minds created the need for God for salvation to remedy the ills of the planet. It makes me wonder sometimes if God created man in his image or man created God in his image. Either way, we’re still not where we should be as a whole race of human beings. We’ve still yet to see the true essence of God become instilled in people and bring about major positive change. A quote that comes to mind when I think of that is from Ill Bill from Non Phixion “Without chaos, nothing evolves.” I think chaos is like time in a sense because without it there is no need for order. Why should there be order? Where did order come from? Once again the imagination reigns supreme over knowledge. What is the purpose of order without peace, love and unity? With order comes commands and obedience but who are we obeying? Who is the unseen commanding officer? What if my perception of God causes me to believe I shouldn’t have to follow rules made by man if I don’t believe they are just? Does this make me a rebel or a just individual? What if my chaotic life brings peace and happiness while order only causes more harm and destruction? Is this justice?

People worry about how people could survive without the concept of time. People who worry about that are already trapped inside this matrix of a world. The more we elaborate our means of communication through time, the less we communicate. All that would be necessary for us would be need to understand the signs of the seasons coming around so we’d know when to plant crops for food. There is nothing else we need to do. All the wants and desires we have are solely from the imagination. Some of us still desire things only for temporary satisfaction. Our imaginations birth desires and concepts. Imagine waking up in the morning and knowing you have to go to work so you can pay the bills and provide for your family. To some this doesn’t require much imagination, as it is already part of their reality. So imagine that you just stopped doing that. Imagine how many people would become angry or disappointed in you. Imagine how quickly your utilities would be shut off, your landlord would evict your or the bank would kick you out of your home. Imagine not being able to provide food for your family because you don’t have the money to. Imagine how your emotions would change and your attitude towards those around you and life in general. You will start to see people’s true colors. You would seem humanity begin to act less humane and take all that a person has. How is it that we all depend on each other for survival yet we act like complete strangers when we pass people in the street? It is not time that we should be concerned with as much as the well being of each human being. If we use time to benefit such a cause then the world will begin to change around us but if we continue to try to race the clock then we only age and perish for no purpose other than to fulfill selfish desires. Just think about it for a moment.

It’s obvious that the power structures within the government have a tremendous desire to rule over people more so than serving and protecting the people. So they exercise their force and tell us that we need to pay them, or else. That reminds me of the school bully everyone knows about. Maybe you were the bully or the one getting bullied. There is no freedom in that, nor is their justice and equality. Aren’t these the very things that the US is supposed to stand for? Our so called freedom comes at the expense of other lives being lost. Does freedom have more value than a human life? The government grants permission to do things on land they once stole from the early inhabitants. History is repeating itself so as we supposedly advance and evolve, why haven’t we learned to end war yet? People still act based of animal instinct and power and physical strength is honored and respected. Declaration of territory, the creation of inferiority complexes, pride and the ego are all reasons for many calamities that exist throughout the world.

The desires of the government are clear because we can see evidence of their desire to maintain power over the common people and use fear tactics to keep people obedient to their commands. I believe they actually fear the common person being able to think for themselves because if we all did, then what would be the purpose of government? There is no purpose and there never was one other than to rule people who do not know how to be civil so we have ourselves to blame. Government was just another idea that spawned from the imagination. Why doesn’t anyone do anything about such tyranny? Some people are weak minded and afraid and some are simply content with knowing they can have things even if it means others are going to be without as a result.

When you’re living in the lap of luxury you’re attitude is going to be different than if you were faced with adversity or a crisis situation. If we’re not acting off animal instinct then we’re learning from other people’s behavior and our surroundings become our model or example for ethics and moral conduct. Then we develop habits and these habits greatly affect our behavior. I believe we each have a responsibility to one another because we all live in the same home. We call it Earth but we don’t know what other beings in the universe call our planet. A lot of us don’t realize that this is our home and we all have to learn to share or someone will end up getting ripped off. It just might be you next time. So yes, I do believe people have a responsibility to act sensibly in public, be more aware of our environment and look out for humanity as a whole. Without this, the next generation of teens and youth are going to learn from our nonchalant attitudes and copy our behavior.

Unless people are willing to be the change and stop being followers, we’re going to have a serious problem on our hands in the future. If the youth are learning from us, they may be learning to look out just for themselves. I think we all still have some growing up to do but lets see if we can start we’re we are now. Barak Obama may be our president for the next 4 years or possibly 8 years but what’s more important than that is what you are doing to be the change. He may have just set the spark for this generation so when the torch is passed on to you, you better know what to do with it. I have a feeling that we'll be learning quite a bit in the years to come so pay close attention.

“Don't stop thinking or writing. This is good stuff.

“I think we all have a need to realise our potential, but we must do it without harming the realisation of others. The current capitalist system thwarts this realisation by making money the focus of need. And it does this by distributing money very unevenly, so some do not have enough to afford a home or food, while others have excessive amounts. If money were distributed more evenly so we all had security in home and food we could all concentrate on realising our potential, working on the projects that would still further enable our realisation (like better medicines, mechanising repetitive dangerous work, better infrastructure, more productive agriculture, and great human expression per se).

“We think we can't trust one another. But there's a reason why people commit crimes, compete unfairly, act greedily, and generally get one over on another. And a great deal of that reason is to do with the fact that there is no security of income. Wealth is not shared (not within or between nations) and people become desperate. We don't and shouldn't need to compete for money, we can and should be able to compete fairly in making our best contribution.”
